The staff was standoffish upon entering and greeting, they didn’t bother to contact us when they only had a 15” available instead of a 10” on my reservation, they took too much time to find my reservation and figure out how their own computers worked, and they didn’t even do a walkthrough and inspection of the truck we were renting, save for the mileage and gas. The two women we were doing business with were NOT ready to work that day. If anybody plans to move out to or from Brownwood and chooses this location, they had better treat their customers better than we were.

first you send to a drop place that is not a drop place then route back to another drop place and then charge me for going over the mileage allowed,WTF!!!!

It would be helpful to know the procedure if the office closes early. Ex: Is there a key drop box, does someone have to be there when we drop off the equipment.. However the representatives were very nice and Randy was very informative and helpful.

The phone number listed on Uhaul.com was incorrect. The additional number a Uhaul representative gave me was incorrect as well. After reserving (and receiving a confirmation e-mail stating that I had a reservation for a 5x8 cargo trailer to be picked up on 12/28), a representative should have contacted me by my preferred method (phone), within the hour to confirm my reservation and pick up location. They did not. I began to get worried and got back online to do the express check in about 7:30. That's when I noticed my reservation had been moved to the following day 12/29 for reasons still unknown. I .called customer service and was given no explanation or apology. I was told there was absolutely nothing that could be done as "scheduling" closed at 7pm. I finally told to cancel my reservation and that I would go rent directly from another location since online reservations apparently meant nothing. She said it was canceled. I then received an email on the 29th informing me that my trailer was scheduled to be picked up at 12:00 noon at Brownwood Restorations!! I again contacted customer service and scheduling. I was offered no reasonable explanation, apologies, or compensation for the huge inconvenience, hassle, and apparent incompetence of both the scheduling department failing to call me on the 28th nor the customer service representative's failure to cancel my order. I was told that customer service did not even have the ability to cancel and order. Then, I was given the oldest, most dilapidated trailer I have ever seen. She changed my pick up time to fit my schedule, and I went to pick up the trailer. The Uhaul establishment hooked the trailer up incorrectly (failed to cross the chains) and said the lights worked. I left to load the trailer. I had to go buy WD-40 and apply to the tracks of the door to get it to slide up and down. After loading, I checked the lights (as it was then dark out) and 2 of the running lights did not work. I called the Uhal rental establishment and was advised to call roadside assistance as they did not have another trailer that size. Roadside assistance could not tell me if it was legal to drive without the running lights and said it would take an hour to an hour and a half for anyone to even arrive to try to fix the lights. I asked if I could get a trailer from another Uhaul dealer in town and was told I could not. I called the Uhaul rental establishment back and asked if they had a larger trailer I could rent and transfer my things to. They did not. Her only solution was to wait for another trailer tomorrow. I told her that was not an option as I was already a day behind due to a supposed scheduling issue. I had to get it loaded, drive to Austin, unload and be in College Station by 6pm tomorrow. I had to be on the road to Austin tonight and had no time left for delays. Ms.X said she would call her boss to see if he had a solution.
