I had to drive 45 miles to pick up the truck and trailer. The people working at the hardware store had no idea what they were doing. I wasn't sure if I had completed the check out procedure or not and I had to locate the trailer using the contract. I was over charged. Never Again.

I was running an hour late to pick up the truck, a uhaul care rep called me and was snotty and said I assume your not picking it up and want to cancel? I said no just running late, she put me on hold and said we need to find you another truck, I asked why I still want it I’m just waiting till my wife gets home, she said the truck isn’t there. Well I said I’m glad I’m running late then what would have happened if I drove the 30 mins to pick it up? Silence. She was rude to me for no reason when really I would have wasted my time over an hour to show up with no truck. She then found me a bigger truck nearby and I said I don’t need a bigger truck is it the same price and she said yes . When I went to pick up the other truck the lady didn’t know how to process it in the system and it was $189! When my other truck was $39 I had to call uhaul again and have them try to fix it and match the price the lady had to wait for two supervisors who never came over , I had a second phone and called the other first place and said call me if that truck shows up. While I was on hold for an hour the other truck now theee hours late shows up. I had to have them cancel everything drive an hour now cause I was more west to pick up this bigger truck and get my original deal it was a freaking mess. I get that it’s no ones fault cause that first customer was three hours late but one why didn’t anyone call me to let me know it wasn’t ready, two when they did call she was rude and didn’t know the status of the truck and three why wasn’t the price matched like I was told. Overall I’ll be really careful next time I use uhaul . I was also emailed instructions for both trucks to use the app to pick it up and neither place would allow that

I am all for hiring teenagers, but you MUST have an adult present to help out. What should have taken half an hour took over an hour.

U-Haul should be called that U-Hate. U-Haul literally has the worst customer service ever! If you find yourself in a bind like us (we had our closing date changed) It was completely out of our control. We called 48 hours in advance and asked for a one day extension on our truck and was told we had to return ni matter what and that should get “storage’. Although I understand that, I feel like there could’ve definitely been another truck nearby that could’ve been used for the next rental. The real problem was the complete lack of empathy on the part of two different customer service representatives. They were downright MEAN.

The trailer we were suppose to pick up was not returned and not available. After asking about the $50 return for not having the trailer they decided to give us the in town trailer. A young boy hooked up the trailer and sent me on my way. When I got home I was checking the trailer to make sure it was all ready to go the following day and the 2 left lights were not working. I called uhaul, they sent someone out 2 hours later and said all the wires were shot underneath. it would take a long time to fix. If we drove it during the day we would be fine. We did but had to cut the time short to get back in daylight. We called the shop to tell them and the man who answered didn't seem to care. It was just not a positive experience at all.

Demonstrate some administrative flexibility and grace with your administrative bureaucracy. Good customer service can not be delivered unless the organization can deploy some common sense. Your customer feedback survey is flawed because there are three customer touch points: One is reservations and corporate personnel; two is the pick up location personnel; and third is the drop off personnel. Reservations and/or corporate personnel were not helpful, caring, or customer-centric at all. And, I also had an insurance challenge which could have been resolved EASILY, but corporate would not listen to any common sense, or helpfulness - of which I will not address. But, as a customer service trainer to many large and small organizations, the fee charged to me for 48 hours on a less than 12 hour rental will be a great illustration to my clients of how not to deliver exceptional customer care, and service. Thanks for the teaching material - it will be priceless to the many organizations who want to learn how to get better!

UHaul is terrible about allowing your preferred pick up location. Don't plan on being able to pick up a truck where you requested.

Have a buzzer at the desk for customers to ring for assistance because the desk was unattended when I arrived and I had to go searching in the adjacent/connected hardware store to find help.

My reservation was supposed to be at The Attic in Monticello, MN...actually at the bus company...got there and no reservation...no car dolly...girl there finally found info and saw there was a question about my tow vehicle...the site I signed up on confirmed things would work...she found me a dolly in Buffalo..they hooked me up but didn't check lights...didn't work...nice trooper let me use my tow vehicle lights ...

I was charged for dolly and furniture pads even though I said I didn't want any(They were already on the truck. The lady who gave me the keys also did not do a visual inspection with me to verify that everything was good before I drove off.

The trailer was great. Pulled nicely behind my truck (12X6 Trailer). Our only complaint was when we dropped the trailer off. The Buffalo Rental tried to charge us an extra fee, saying that only the Mpls Dealership accepts drops. The Mpls dealer was over 100 miles away from our current house, which made the request ridiculous. After 20 minutes of waiting the fee was waived, but the workers were unfriendly and agnostic at best.

The truck had the check engine light, oil light, and drove like hell ( steering is really bad.) this was bought up to them. Then 3 weeks later Friends of ours moved and got this same P.O.S.. I would say on a scale 1 to 10 on a safety sand point i would give it a 3. So I'm sorry to say but uhaul must be lacking a good maintenance. The Place I rented it from was great.
