1) I reserved and confirmed my rental for pick up via my phone a couple of days in advance, went to the location on day-of, followed the instructions to sign in to my U-Haul account and click on the "Pick Up My Truck" link. Except the link wasn't there. So went into the office to inquire, but was told I had to wait in line, which I did. Very frustrating! Kind of defeats the purpose of confirming in advance and cost me some valuable time I hadn't anticipated. 2) I could not find anything on my contract (nor was I told by the person who checked me in) that I had to refill the gas prior to returning to the level it was at when I picked up the truck. Fortunately, I decided to ask someone in the "yard" who confirmed "Yes," it needs to be refilled. Can only imagine that there must be many people who don't realize this and then get charged an extravagant per-gallon price for having to fill up at your location. Truck was fine; experience, not so much.

Original request was to ick up in soquel. Twenty four hours before uhaul changed pick to corralitos. I called to confirm. They were closed. Reservation changed to campbell ca it was confusing. However the truck was great and it all worked out

Make sure the rental equipment is inside truck, I missed the dolly. Ask the customer if they have ever driven one and if they would like some information. How to put it into drive for example.

My tow dolly break lights didnâ€™t work and where never checked I didnâ€™t notice until I was over an hour away and was stuck with them And where we picked up our truck 2181 Laurelwood there wasnâ€™t a uhaul representative present and we here given a phone number to call by the gas station cashier but no one answered. With no way to contact our uhaul rep we went to the actual uhaul shop down the street 2121 Laurelwood where the general manager assisted us but was very rude and made us seem like an inconvenience Overall I was very disappointed by my uhaul experience in the San Jose area but the red bluff was very nice and profesional

Your website is absolutely horrible. The massive amount of overselling / upselling that you try to do make it nearly impossible to execute a simple rental. I ended up calling the local branch and just dealing with a person. I get that you have to monetize every single user as best you can, but man oh man there's no reason for asking me a zillion times if I need blankets if I just need a rental for a few hours. I got it. Sub VP needed a promo by bumping their sale numbers. But this comes at a cost of a streamlined experience. Also the initial vehicle that was given to me was missing a license plate. Your guy didn't notice it until we pointed it out. having someone drive off your lot with something like a missing license plate is a big deal. License plate are required by state law and without one I could have been liable.

Fully disclose terms. While I appreciate your desire to go paperless, I am very frustrated with the lack of verbal disclosure in place of written. I was charged $55 for 1/8 tank of gas - I was never told to confirm level of gas when I accepted the vehicle. I was never told I was responsible to replace fuel used - I assumed it was part of the $1.24/mile charge. I was charged $135 for 22 miles and 4 hours use of the truck. Ridiculous! Very unhappy.

Hire help for the manager--Manager has a professional disposition which made the rental process easier handling the paperwork to disconnecting the trailer and moving it himself.
