My original plan was to pick up the moving truck for 24 hours at 7:30 PM on the previous day as it was close to closing and we needed it for the next day's move beginning in the afternoon. Due to a weather event (impending tornado and harsh thunderstorms), I chose to arrive around 5:30 PM to pick up the truck before the storm got any worse. Since this event was unforeseen at the time of reservation, I wanted to see if the representative would still honor the 7:30 PM return time even though it was over the 24 hours rental period. He seemed very hesitant to accommodate this request as he kept mentioning getting the manager's approval and even printed the contract for an under 24 hour rental. He finally wrote the adjusted return time on the contract after I had asked multiple more times. When I returned, which was a little after 7:30 PM and just past the time of return, I pulled the vehicle in with only 15 miles driven for the move and the same rep pestered me to fill up the tank full. In all my years renting cars, trucks, U-Hauls, and other vehicles, as long as the fuel gauge still shows "Full," I have never been pestered to fill up the tank to its maximum capacity. Even after I filled up the tank and went to turn in the keys, he doubted that I had actually filled it up and continued to pester me about filling it up the rest of the way. I could not leave that location quick enough and I will be warning others about picking up trucks at this location due to the poor customer service. I will not be giving this general store any of my business any longer, both for U-Haul rentals or in general.

Not scam them by charging them for 155 miles when they only drive 57 bc that what they did to me. Then they blamed me for locking the keys inside the truck yet I was never told how to drop off the keys.

I don’t think that it was the location’s fault but we reserved our truck early to save the $20. We reserved for a location that was ten minutes from us. The day before pick up we had to confirm for a location that was almost 40 minutes away. We used our allotted mileage just driving back to our home. The attendant at the location said “yeah, uhaul does some questionable things.” We also asked for a 17ft truck and received a 15ft.

I did the reservation. I called the morning if pickup and was sent to one location that informed me they did not have equipment for me. I was then sent almost 40 miles to a different location. The agent on the phone stated I would be credited 50 miles. That did not occur. Lousy experience overall!!!

I completed everything online before i came in.but when i got there the contract wasnt showing that i had done it even though i had a confirmation,number saying elsewise.uhaul had to be called and that took a little longer than i hoped but orher than that everything was great...

The manager at this site was so unprofessional over 1/8th of a tank of gas. I looked at the 1/4 of a tank needle and just a smiggen over and it seemed correct. However, this did not meet the needs of the Manager on site and he requested that I purchase $5 worth of gas to bring the needle to the 1/4 and a smiggen over. Well it went to the 3/8th mark and the Manager stated and I quote, "Oh well." I asked for him to loan me a hose to take some gas out, and that was out of the question. I doubt that paying full price and 2 cups of gas would have caused U-Haul to claim bankruptcy. I am relocating due to a job transfer and you can be guaranteed I will not be using U-Haul for any future interim transfers of household belongings. LF

I was very upset to learn that I was not going to be compensated for the gas that I did not use. The truck had a quarter tank of gas when I picked it up and 3/4 when I returned it. I went over my mileage by 11 miles and was charged. I feel like a good compensation would have been to not charge me for the overage because I lost at least $40 in gas.

They were understaffed and the rule was as long as there were people in the store, they couldn't leave one person to attend to all of them while the other came to look at the truck. This was not personnels' fault but store policy. So we waited over 40 minutes to have someone sign us out. They did try to accomodate us though and the staff was friendly. The store was just understaffed.

Return location seemed nice but insisted it was U-Haul policy for customers to re-bag rental moving blankets. If this is U-Haul policy it should be made clear on purchase and extra bags provided on pickup. Other than that, experience was good.

Rental agent was extremely rude! A customer service agent called us the day before stating our truck would not be ready for our 0800 pick up time the following morning. We were asked to come at 0915 instead. We had already hired movers to start at 0900 so it was inconvenient paying for labor with no labor. We received a call from the rental agent at Newbys Bridge road at 0845 asking us if we were still planning to get the truck since it had been ready at 0800. We were furious! We arrive to the location and asked him to listen to the voicemail telling us to be there at 0915 instead of our original 0800 reservation time, and he offered no empathy even after we told him we had laborers at the house waiting. He really didn't care and offered no apology or nothing out of courtesy. He even admitted the truck was actually there at 0800 and we asked why didn't give us a courtesy call at that time but again, he didn't matter to him. Horrible service!!!!

Contract for 24 hours not upheld because someone wanted to books long haul. I understand that’s where your money is made, but don’t offer reservations if you cannot excute said reservation for any reason. I’ll be spreading the word via social media. Not only will l never use uhaul in the future, I will strongly urge others to avoid Uhaul as well. My 3 prominent real estate agent friends are going to have a field day with this information.

Horrible customer service. The guy threatened to charge us $34.50 because, "if you look at an angle, the needle was just below full." We actually had to put $2.00 in gas in the truck. Wow. Really? It also took FOREVER to return the truck because the guy was busy moving trucks around instead of checking in our truck. Almost caused us to go over 24 hours which I'm sure is what he was trying to do so he could bill us for a second day. We will pass on uhaul next time and go with someone else...

Ordered our U-Haul at one location, right before the time to pick it up, I just happened to be reading emails & found that the location for pickup had changed to further away... I was upset, I started calling to complain, NO ONE CARED. Then we had to pay ADDITIONAL $1.29 per mile for the difference! Not happy & should be compensated for!!!
