Arrived to the facility and our 15 ft truck we reserved wasn’t available and didn’t receive any notification beforehand about it. Battery ended up dying on us before we made our first trip after packing the truck up. Oil was really low too. Roadside Assistance was relatively prompt, but it cut an extra hour out of our allotted time. The total price was really cheap, so you get what you pay for I guess. I did want to pay in cash though and the register wasn’t working. Figures.

Where to start. I booked the truck early, but wanted to make an update. Considering the website told me it wasn’t a problem I thought it would be fine. The night before my move they told me it would be on the south side of Chicago (a 40 minutes drive with traffic, and also a bad part of town). I was given a truck on empty. I asked them specifically what my conditions to return it were and they said on the contract it would show on empty so that I didn’t need to meet any fuel requirements. The day after I returned the truck, I received a charge for $30 for not having it at a quarter tank. I called the return store and they said the contract said I needed to have it at 1/4 tank to receive the fuel reimbursement they had given me (I’m sure it did, but that’s why I specifically asked them in the store) and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I’d seriously consider another company in the future if at all possible.

The pickup was wonderful and the young lady was knowledgeable & very HELPFUL about services. The return was not to smooth the youngman was lazy and not wanting to print my receipt insisting I go home to print it out. I do not like the self checkout.

The only problem that I see at the vehicles need to be maintained it sound like the transmission was slipping the brakes were worn down and it definitely needed oil change I could tell by driving it

When I reserved the truck, you made me download your app. Trying to use the app to pick up the truck was terrible. I tried to follow the video's directions, but at the pickup location the app only wanted me to add the event to my calendar.

I have Been able to rent equipment I needed every time I’ve been here and it hasn’t been to hectic. The last time how ever I did experience somewhat of a headache, after reserving a rental I was told I couldn’t rent because I had an outstanding rental fee (that I was not suppose to have). The young lady that was working at the time was obviously very overwhelmed, frustrated, and/or annoyed. She was the only worker at the time and had a couple customers there and did not want to deal with my situation. On my previos rental they forgot to record when I reurned the rental and we’re charging me as if did not return on agreed upon date (their mistake). I did receive a call a couple days after returning the rental asking me to return rental, when I told them I had already returned it they said, "oh yeah, it’s here". I never imagined I would get charged extra since I handed the key over to a worker upon returning. Well after being on phone with customer service for a while I had to practically force the worker at the location to get a hold of her manager. She kept saying "there is no manager available" or "I am the only one here and I can’t help". She also said "I don’t understand why you can’t just pay". She finally decided to call her manager and explained the situation to her (manager was there the day I returned my rental). Finally they figure out it was actually this same young lady’s fault that my rental did not get checked in and manager cleared me from having to pay extra fees so that I was able to rent again. This rude young lady did apologize and explained that it was her fault because she gets "too busy" (she just needs to take a breath and have better customer service).

The in-person,as well as the on-line experience, was excellent! The team at pick up were extremely helpful, very calm, helpful, friendly, and gracious. Moving is a very stressful life event. U Haul made it a very positive experience.

I made a reservation for a 26 foot truck for 24 hours a few weeks before our move. The location pick up was changed twice and I received a 20 ft truck for 10 hours. My move was a disaster and we were not able to finish moving out for 2 more days due to the changes U-Haul made to our reservation without our knowledge until the morning of pick-up. Customer service was arrogant and said the 20 ft truck we received was all that was available, even though we reserved a 26 ft truck a month before. We had to hire another moving company last minute for the following 2 days to complete our move costing us an extra $1,500. We also had to take days off of work. U-Haul caused our move to be a complete disaster. Don’t ever use this terrible company!

Left phone in van. When I retired 20 min later guy gave me phone. But my SIM card was stolen from the phone. Didn’t discover this till I arrived home. Wasn’t going to go back and have guy say he didn’t do anything to my phone. I know he stole the card. So no I won’t recommend.

The amount of gas in the vehicle was less than the amount indicated on the contract signed and I was charged for refilling to a higher level than it was checked out to me. Also the self-return process didn’t provide me confirmation so I was confused as to if the return was properly logged.
