My first reservation was here, but the UHaul email sent to me redirected me to the 1600 N. Western Ave, Chicago, location. I got there, and there and it was a gas station with a kiosk that has a UHaul key box on the outside of the building. There was no UHaul employee to help me or sign me out, and the lock box with the key was wide open. I get into the van that I'm assuming is my rental, turn the key, and the low tire pressure light is on. I have a lot of driving to do, so that was not acceptable. I call UHaul, and they have no confirmation of my online check-in that I had completed the day before. UHaul rescheduled my reservation for 11 am at the 4100 Fuller location, which is an actual UHaul business location. So two hours later, I finally have a van for the long day of moving. The 4100 Fuller location is excellent, but do not ever let them redirect you to the 1600 N. Western Ave, Chicago location. It has BAD reviews online, so I avoided that location when I first made my reservation, but was redirected by UHaul. Everyone at UHaul that I called, short of the first person who initially answered the phone, was wonderfully understanding, apologetic, and very helpful to get me a van. The people at the 4100 Fullerton location were wonderful as well. Very nice, helpful, the van was in much better shape than the one I was in at the first attempt. I do feel I should be compensated for the 2 hour delay in my time-sensitive reservation and moving day. I was moving my son out of school in a covid-assigned time slot, and we were late. We had to get approval for the late check-out, and it was a hassle from the start. Thank you for the opportunity to share this experience. When I walked in, there were 4 employees behind 4 windows and 2 were with a client. I was trying to figure out where to go and i was yelled at to get in line. There was no line. When I asked where the line was, I was yelled at again to get into a non existent line. When we went to return the truck there were four other people out there returning as well. Nobody could find where the key drop box was. We looked for a very long time. We were not told when we picked up the truck where it was. The return process is very complicated! It was very cold and dark out. It took us over 10 minutes to find, Overall my going to this location was not pleasant. I will not return here or recommend it. I have used your house before, never an experience like this. There were literally only two clients in there picking up trucks. I should've not been yelled at like that more than once.Sarah G.

You can honor the location that a reservation is made at and not change it. This location was not my choice and it was not where I wanted to pick up my equipment. Not to mention that I had to exceed the allotted mileage because of the location change.WILLIAM P.
Have the truck available at the location and time promised. I was scheduled to have a truck at 10 am at a location near my house. 30 min prior to picking up the truck I received an email saying I would get a truck 6 pm at a different location. I hired movers and was now needing to reschedule with them. After calling U-haul I was able to secure another truck at a different location for 2 pm. When I arrived and spoke with the U-Haul agents no truck was available. I then had to make another reservation at a different location further away. They had a truck 5' shorter than my original reservation which resulted in more trips back and forth. I ask the agent for no mileage to be charged for this rental which I feel is fair considering that I had to rent a truck further away and smaller than my reservation but I get store credit that I cannot use towards this rental. An email is not acceptable for changing a reservation 30 min before. In situations such as this a phone call or a text message with a direct number to a scheduling agent should be provided. I was on the phone for and hour and a half (mostly on hold) trying to secure a new truck as well as coordinate with my movers to meet at a later time. The offer of In Store credit is also not acceptable in this transaction. Credit towards the current reservation should be the course of action. Free mileage waiving the insurance fee as well as free blankets and dolly I think would have been a fair deal considering. Moving is stressful enough but having to deal with 3 different rental places getting a smaller truck and having to travel farther to get the truck is an unnecessary strain. We are always warned that the phone calls are taped, please go listen to them and see if this is good business practice.MICHAEL J.
