Nothing to improve really. Great place. I didn't get name of guy behind counter (assuming he was owner at SSS), but he was no nonsense straight facts guy. He made it real easy! I would definitely go back.

This is an in-city location without a parking lot and only metered street parking. It would help to know where exactly to park the vehicle upon return, especially after hours.

The after hours app was confusing. The instructions from the email read: "Start here", so I clicked that button. And then there were not further instructions or references to needing the app. We showed up late and the pick-up time was greyed out, so we couldn't proceed with checking it out. We ended up needing to call customer service after fumbled around for 20 mins trying to figure it out. Once we figured it out, it was fine. Returning the truck was also cryptic. It said we should park it at the lot, but there was no lot, just street parking.

Was originally given a truck with dried vomit in the back even though owner claimed it had been inspected. However, he was very sorry and happily exchanged it for a truck that was brand new- rest of experience was great.

Just like Amanda h. I too was ripped off with fuel. I drove the truck three miles max so I didn't use much fuel and I was charge 22.00 for fuel! Never again! What a crook!

I did a drop off after hours and the area was very tight for the 20' truck, other then that the man I talked to on the phone was very nice who told me where I should leave it after hours.

Can only do so much considering it's in the city. Though I'd only advice elsewhere to friends because parking on the return was difficult due to small spaces. Again, no fault to the company as it is in the city after all.

Extremely slow service. I had checked in prior to showing up but still took 40 minutes to get the truck. Was assigned the wrong truck, then the wrong receipt and then another truck. Had a couple of questions about charges that I didn't resolve because couldn't wait any longer.

Used a truck for 1.5hours, drove 4 miles total, gas tank gauge did not change at all yet on my invoice i was charged $14 for fuel. What a joke and a thief, never will rent from uhaul again.

The location was fine if it was the one I originally had made a reservation for. I originally made a reservation at a location much closer to my address (4100 W Fullerton Ave) because the person I spoke to on the phone said we could keep the truck for two days and pick it up at 7am. The day before we moved they let us know they did not have any trucks at that location and that we could pick up a truck at another location at 10am. We had movers coming at 8am so this would not work for us. They then told us we could pick up the keys for the truck that night in order to get the truck at 7am (requiring an extra trip). Then we called the location directly to make sure we could get the keys and they said they did not have the truck so we could not pick up the keys until 10am the next day. We then had to call back multiple times in order to finally get a truck at this location (801 S Harlem Ave Forest Park, IL 60130) which was the only location that would let us keep a truck for 2 days. This location was 13 miles away from our apartment so we had to waste time driving there and back and also pay extra for the gas to travel 13 miles in the Uhaul. This whole ordeal required about 3 hours on the phone with different people/Uhaul branches in an already busy/stressful time the day before our move. I was very disappointed in Uhaul and how they handled this situation, and will try to book with another company in the future.

The van was covered in mud. I had to clean the windows myself to be able to see the mirrors. It was dangerous to drive with with so much dirt covering the van. I was not told anything about the van. Such a fuel it takes.

When I checked out, the representative showed me where my fuel level was and said I would be charged $4 per gallon of fuel if I did not fill it back up before returning. There was no notice of a $30 fill up fee mentioned at all. I find it very shady that this was not mentioned at all. I would've gladly refilled it if I knew there was a $30 fee associated with this. Please make sure you refuel the truck/van yourself because the representative will not let you know this!

This is a hard commentary for me. The staff at this location was great. The truck was absolutely disgusting. The outside looked like it took a shower in mud. The inside wasn't cluttered But definitely rocks and dirt all over the floor in the back. I have documented calls on Saturday morning spanning 5.5hours in order to get a jump for my car- which died mid move. I had 3 uhaul personnel working on my ticket throughout the morning and finally we got someone dispatched to the right place. This was absolutely ridiculous. I was told I would receive compensation but haven't seen it. I'll call this week but missing out on 5.5 hours of moving time made my Saturday a living hell and waiting for a jump for that long is unacceptable.

This center did not do a good job of explaining ANY of the fees and taxes that went along with the purchase of the vehicle. I called to ask if there was availability for a vehicle and he said: "yes it's $19.95 to rent". So I rented the vehicle and kept it for about 2 hours and my final bill which was emailed to me was $77! There were fees and taxes and gas fees that weren't explained at all. I think this was a pretty shady move and I was totally taken by surprise over the bill
