Took me 2 minutes to get the U-Haul and about 15 seconds for the drop-off process. Best U-Haul experience I've ever had. Highly recommend.

The instructions were not given properly. I was asked to return the vehicle with full gas. I used the U-haul for 5 miles and when I was refuelling, my gas bill came out to be $15 (5 gallons). When I told them that I wasn't given the vehicle with a full tank, they told that you were supposed to refuel as much as it was at the time of pick-up. I think he should have done a better job explaining this when giving the vehicle. I guess Home Depot service is better and I would rather recommend that. Thanks.

When I had called, the man (owner?) was great and very helpful. The woman who works there does not have the best customer service skills. She also doesn't know state abbreviations (we were moving out of state), which made things super confusing for the return location.

First, I ordered 2 furniture dollys and there was only one in store so I only got one. Second, I chose no insurance and got charged $14.00 for insurance which was probably added after the computer broke at the store and the employee said he would process my order later while I was gone. Third, I was given no instructions on returning the truck and when I called to ask a question no one answered or called me back. There was only street parking at this location so I ended up having to pay a parking meter to keep the truck parked until the store opened to avoid getting a ticket. The workers were very unhelpful and I would never return to this location again.

Made reservation for utility and furniture dolly well in advance and completed express check in but was told they had ran out of dollys. If I make a reservation with plenty of notice I expect my requests to be fulfilled.

The guy executing the uhaul contract was less than friendly. Did not provide any information. Did not receive any instructions on how/ where to return the truck.

Nothing to improve really. Great place. I didn't get name of guy behind counter (assuming he was owner at SSS), but he was no nonsense straight facts guy. He made it real easy! I would definitely go back.

This is an in-city location without a parking lot and only metered street parking. It would help to know where exactly to park the vehicle upon return, especially after hours.

The after hours app was confusing. The instructions from the email read: "Start here", so I clicked that button. And then there were not further instructions or references to needing the app. We showed up late and the pick-up time was greyed out, so we couldn't proceed with checking it out. We ended up needing to call customer service after fumbled around for 20 mins trying to figure it out. Once we figured it out, it was fine. Returning the truck was also cryptic. It said we should park it at the lot, but there was no lot, just street parking.

Was originally given a truck with dried vomit in the back even though owner claimed it had been inspected. However, he was very sorry and happily exchanged it for a truck that was brand new- rest of experience was great.

Just like Amanda h. I too was ripped off with fuel. I drove the truck three miles max so I didn't use much fuel and I was charge 22.00 for fuel! Never again! What a crook!

I did a drop off after hours and the area was very tight for the 20' truck, other then that the man I talked to on the phone was very nice who told me where I should leave it after hours.

Can only do so much considering it's in the city. Though I'd only advice elsewhere to friends because parking on the return was difficult due to small spaces. Again, no fault to the company as it is in the city after all.

Wider range of open hours. I'm assuming this has been looked into and there isn't a market for that but in my case it would have been nice. No complaints though.

Extremely slow service. I had checked in prior to showing up but still took 40 minutes to get the truck. Was assigned the wrong truck, then the wrong receipt and then another truck. Had a couple of questions about charges that I didn't resolve because couldn't wait any longer.

Used a truck for 1.5hours, drove 4 miles total, gas tank gauge did not change at all yet on my invoice i was charged $14 for fuel. What a joke and a thief, never will rent from uhaul again.

The location was fine if it was the one I originally had made a reservation for. I originally made a reservation at a location much closer to my address (4100 W Fullerton Ave) because the person I spoke to on the phone said we could keep the truck for two days and pick it up at 7am. The day before we moved they let us know they did not have any trucks at that location and that we could pick up a truck at another location at 10am. We had movers coming at 8am so this would not work for us. They then told us we could pick up the keys for the truck that night in order to get the truck at 7am (requiring an extra trip). Then we called the location directly to make sure we could get the keys and they said they did not have the truck so we could not pick up the keys until 10am the next day. We then had to call back multiple times in order to finally get a truck at this location (801 S Harlem Ave Forest Park, IL 60130) which was the only location that would let us keep a truck for 2 days. This location was 13 miles away from our apartment so we had to waste time driving there and back and also pay extra for the gas to travel 13 miles in the Uhaul. This whole ordeal required about 3 hours on the phone with different people/Uhaul branches in an already busy/stressful time the day before our move. I was very disappointed in Uhaul and how they handled this situation, and will try to book with another company in the future.
