Rented a pickup. Had it for 3 hours and drove 21 miles. Cost me $43 for that. Will never rent a uhaul again. What a rip off. No one ever even came out to check it in. Had to go inside and get someone. The guy who checked us back in acted like it was an inposition.

We drove to Dallas, Texas, through the pouring rain and the trailer leaked. All of my belongings were soaking wet! Pictures are ruined. Horrible experience!!

When I reserved a trailer online, I purchased a tow ball/receiver for the vehicle that would be doing the towing. I never received a receipt for the purchase from the online website, but it confirmed payment for the ball/receiver. When I went to this site to pick up the equipment, the Uhaul representative looked up my order and said he did not see my purchase of the ball/receiver in the system. To prove I made the purchase I showed him the charge to my bank account. He still insisted I did not purchase the item and then stated that charge was for reserving the trailer. I saw the exact hitch on the shelf and brought it to him to show the cost of the equipment matched the amount charged to my account (considering tax into the cost as well). At this point the representative started to become agitated with the fact that I wanted the item I paid for. In one last attempt to prove I paid for the item I called my bank and the bank representative confirmed my online purchase of the ball/receiver with Uhaul to include the address for pick up. The Uhaul representative still would not help and stuck with the “you didn’t buy it” stance. At this point I saw I wasn’t going to get the item I paid for, so I informed my bank I wanted to disputed the charge so I can be refunded. I repurchased the item and continued to complete the trailer contract only because I had to start my 8 hour drive that morning and wanted the whole ordeal to be over with. The Uhaul representative started going over the contract. The trailer insurance coverage cost that was provided online when I reserved the equipment did not match what he was quoting me, he was quoting me $10 more. Once again I disputed the cost he was giving me and once again he said I was wrong. Once the contract was printed it showed the right cost of coverage for that trailer, the cost that I was quoted when I reserved it online, and he was proven wrong by the system. I don’t remember the representetive’s name, but he was the only one at the location when I arrived at 7:15 am on the day of pick-up. I honestly feel that the representative has no clue on how to use the Uhaul software/computer system. In addition to not having technical knowledge required, he did not have a customer oriented mentality..... he was more of a “im not dealing with this” mentality even after my bank confirmed everything I was saying. Uhaul may want to consider retraining this representative in both technical and personal aspects of the business. His attitude was so bad, that even my bank representative said she would avoid this location at all costs....and that was because she could hear him arguing with me while I was on the phone with the bank. At no point did I become unprofessional or use profanity, so there was no reason for him to get so agitated with a customer.

The truck smelled of sulfur dioxide - bad catalytic converter. The check engine light was on. The front end was terribly out of balance. The rental tech explained that the truck was soon to be removed from service??? How is that an excuse for my bad experience?

The camera doesn’t work on your app. You asked for pictures to be taken at pick up and drop off and it would nt work either time.

More options for the rep to handle problems. I was told by a rep at the 800# that I would not be charged for the extra miles , but the rep at the site did not have “manager abilities” to do so

Wind shield wipers were bad. Needed them because drove through a lot of heavy rain at night. Also check the light in the cargo area. Bulb was burned out. Had to stop and get a bulb for it ourselves.

The guy at the desk was very helpful, they didn’t have the unit we reserved that was a 10’ van and he gave us the 15’ one for the same price! But when we returned the unit, the two guys that inspected the unit did NOT say a word to us and both of them had an ATTITUDE!
