The Customer service here is exceptional! We had so many questions and were there so much they remembered our name. Never had a bad experience and they were always very helpful, recommending, explaining, and even helping to carry items to our car. The only negative we have is that they need a bigger parking lot. There is not any room to service folks picking up trucks and tow dollies if more than one customer needs service.

I think the biggest issue I have is not just the truck smelling like smoke and strong cover up perfume, but U-Haul's customer service lying to customers about their location saying they're at the store. The other thing I didn't like was that through no fault of the Petersburg store the truck was unavailable because a customer had not brought back a truck but that the person at the Petersburg store and the corneal Heights store did not call to let me know this until the very last moment when I was at the Petersburg store. To add insult to injury when I asked that the manager call me reference a $50 discount due to the Petersburg store associate tell me that because I was to pick up the truck at the Petersburg store it was company's policy to discount $50. It was my understanding that the Colonial Heights store manager was going to call me the next day but that did not happen. When I tried to call him on his cell phone he did not pick up. I think U-Haul has a long way to go in customer service at their call centers and customer follow up at the store centers.

Trailer still had wood chips,pine needles,dirt and debris from previous customer. Trailer was the oldest on the lot but still made it 800 miles with only minimal water leaking in during the rain.

This location is totally unaccommodating and inflexible. After requesting that I turn in a truck earlier than planned, I made it clear I would only do so if I got the partial day free. When I returned the truck early as requested they then billed me for the full day anyway. When I said, "in that case I will keep it the rest of my day" they said they had already changed my rental period and refused to return the truck to me AND refused to deduct the partial day from my bill. In addition one of the extension days I paid for separately ($49.44) was not credited to my account. So in all I was over billed for $49.44*2, almost $100. I wrote in the signature field that I was contesting the overcharge, made the property's acting manager aware, and will be contesting a portion of the charge with my bank .

I am simply sorry that I do not remember the clerk's name, sitting at the right desk. He was prompt, polite, helpful and knowledgeable. He was also CHEERFUL, as was the other clerk. Both were working expediently with customers on a busy Saturday. Commendable customer service!!!!

I wish the drop off process would have been explained. I dropped the trailer off after business hours but it was not explained to me that I would have to leave a copy of the contract in the drop box. I'm glad I read the placard on the door of the drop off location.
