The parking lot is very small and congested. It appears there is construction under way. It was challenging to find a parking spot when we picked up the cargo van we rented.

The gears messed up many times while driving. At one point it was stuck and wouldn't go in reverse. On the highway at one point i couldn't get the thing to drive over 45 mph.

To the stores credit they had a power outage and were trying to run a store. From my perspective it was a total unorganized madhouse which was anything but accountable which left me feeling paranoid about the entire renting experience. The computers were down at the time so the employees instead wrote all our reservations down on a notebook and told another employee to hand over a set of keys and told me it was out there somewhere by the road "go find it then back it over next to a car dolly and take one." That was the last thing I heard from the U-Haul employee before I took off onto my moving day. Upon delivery, two days later, I was put into yet another unorganized chaos at the O'Fallon, Hwy K MO store. They first came out and looked at the truck and played on they're devices until one said "your only supposed to have two car dollys, how does that make any sense...?" I was then asked to take time out of my day of moving to go and talk to the store manager and explain to him how messed up my pickup scenario was. He was too busy or confused (I wasn't entirely sure) to have any advise to solve the problem so instead took my phone number and said "hey, maybe you won't have to pay." I then left and hoped to never hear from U-Haul again after such a time consuming and confusing process until I then came across a charge for 354 dollars and then a credit for 237 dollars on my credit card. This made me severely angry to see someone just merely decided a number for which I should pay without any phone call at all. I plan to call the support for U-Haul tomorrow and find out exactly what I paid for so I can have my peace and try to forget the entire thing. Granted, I know what memories going to come to my head next time I'm getting ready to move.

I did the online reservation that was advertised to "pick up your rental, without waiting in line!" I still had to wait in line to get a key and that kinda pissed me off. Other than that the service was great and everyone in the store was super professional. Not going to use that online self-service again, because the wait time was the same. Yall need to get your shit together on the corporate side. Locally they were great! online, boo.

The employees were standing around and wouldn't assist me and when someone did he would leave and go do other things and then come back and the process took 20 minutes. And for parking you have to cross a busy highway on foot.

The truck was in great shape and everything was in working order. The only issue I had was the office staff on the day I went in was extremely slow and did not appear to know what was going on. To be fair, my expectation was to say, "hello, I have a reservation," then be told of the terms, conditions, and other essential information about renting a vehicle from Uhaul and have my keys handed to me. I arrived at 7am, waited in line (there was one person in front of me) for 20 minutes, then after speaking to a representative, waited another 20 minutes to receive my keys for a reservation I made a week in advance because the representative kept having to go outside to check on something. Otherwise, a great experience and I loved the return procedure run through the mobile website. Fair and upfront pricing as well. I will definitely rent again through Uhaul.

We had a very poor experience with the self-service equipment pick-up. We had requested a van for 7:30. When we came to pick it up and logged into the self-serve website, we were informed that no equipment had been assigned to this order. There was a 24-hour number to call. It went to voicemail. The message said to leave a voicemail or text. We did both and never received a response. Our next step was to call UHaul's 800-number for customer service. The woman on the line was also unable to contact anyone at this location. She changed our reservation to 9:00 AM (which was when the location opened). At this point, we went ahead and moved what we could without a van because our friends had been ready to help us (assuming we'd have the van at 7:30). When we went to get the van at 9, there was a long slow-moving line and only two employees available to help. We did not get a van until 10:30 (three hours after our scheduled reservation). We were now moving our heaviest furniture in 90+ degree weather, which is what we intended to avoid in the first place. I will NOT be recommending this location to friends and family. I will be using a different company for future moves. We wasted time waking up early to get ready for the van at 7:30 and driving back and forth from the pick-up spot (which was about 15-20 minutes away from our home). We also wasted time waiting on the van to arrive because service was so slow (90 minutes waiting in line). Not to mention wasting the time of our friends who were helping us move.
