I needed a trailer one way. The $16 dollar rental I needed would have had a $200 - $800 charge if I dropped it off 40 miles away, that is insane. This only works if you're trying to move stuff 2 blocks. Instead I had to rack up 80 miles round trip to take it back to the same store. This is clearly not a nationwide company and is useless for going one way. The staff at this location is the only reason I bothered to use it. Your company is a joke. Your staff is priceless.

I drove 16 hours to Columbus, Ohio, and confirmed pickup up of the vehicle transport trailer on prior day with this location. When I arrived, I was originally told the equipment was "down" and not operable (but no one had called me or told me to alternative arrangements). After some delay and discussion by the people working there, I was told that the manager (who they spoke with on the phone) said it was not "down". Thereafter, I had to hook up the trailer with a broken jack that would only jack about 1/3 of the way up, due to binding (The employee escorting me said that is why the trailer should be down and she could not operate the jack as it was too difficult). Also, the rear safety chain used to secure the vehicle being transported did not have an S hook to secure it (just a worn off nub) and one of the safety chains on the trailer tongue was crushed closed so that it would not hook to the tow vehicle. In order to ensure my safety and the vehicle being transported, I had to go to the hardware store to purchase a jack to be able to push up the built in jack high enough to be safe as it was hanging too close to the ground (lower than the trailer axles) and to purchase "D" rings so that the rear safety chain could be secured to the vehicle being transported and to secure the broken tongue safety chain to the tow vehicle. This caused me to excessively stop to check on the trailer on my 16 hour drive back as I was very concerned that the trailer was unfit for usage. Thankfully, there were no incidents on the way back. This is unacceptable and should initiate at least a partial refund for the trouble, costs incurred, time wasted, and undue stress involved. very displeased.

I have used U-Haul many times over the years. It used to be that as long as the truck was returned by closing time the following day, it was still considered 24 hours. Apparently not anymore and this is disappointing because now a person is rushed to load/unload truck to get it back by X time. Please change it back to 24 hours is by close of business following day. Still scratching my head over why you guys needed to call someone to see if they know me when you have my ID information. Is this so you can telemarket my friends? Didn't like that very much. Mover help tab is confusing since it makes it look like what was paid is for the truck rental. Also the mover help I hired (Boggs movers) didn't show up! I am an older female with disabilities and wanted movers to help so my boyfriend didn't have to do everything by himself, since I knew I wouldn't be able to help much. Maybe a third party company, but because it goes through the U-Haul website it makes it look like U-Haul represents them.

My original order was for 60 moving blankets. They didn’t have this many in stock at the pick up location - which wasn’t a problem. They gave me 24 instead. The problem was that my order wasn’t updated in the computer, so when I returned the truck, I was charged for the missing blankets. Disappointing. I would like to speak with someone about this. The staff was very friendly as polite otherwise. Just an oversight.

This location is absolutely awful. I have spent quite a bit of money only to be treated very poorly. Cynthia Backus is the owner\operator and is a terrible human being. I have been a customer here on more than one occasion. Ill tell my story and let the public decide. One one occasion I rented a moving truck and was asked for an alternate contact. It had to be a personal friend or family. I used my fathers number. He was on site with me to get the truck. He gave me a ride. Cynthia called his phone and no one answered because my dad had left his phone at home. We explained the situation and she insisted on my father getting his phone so she could call it and he answer. We jumped through all her hoops and wasted an hour and went on our way. She insisted that this is u-haul policy. I have rented trucks from this location and others and have never been asked again to do this. On this last occasion, again dealing with Cynthia I had reserved a truck for 8 am. I was late to the appointment by 50 min and my truck had been rented to someone else. I was told by Cynthia that it is spelled out in the reservation. I didnt see it. I was also told its like catching a plane. If you dont get there on time you miss your flight. So I explained that I really didnt want the size truck I had reserved and really wanted the 15' truck. There was a 15' truck on the lot that someone else had reserved and not showed up to get. They were roughly 30 min late. Cynthia said she needed to give that customer a courtesy call to see if they were going to show. I was never given a courtesy call, and if I had been I could have explained I was held up in this awesome Columbus construction traffic. I explained to Cynthia that I was just told it works like catching a plane and that person missed their flight. I wanted that truck. She made sure to call that other customer AND make me wait 20 minutes while she gave them an opportunity to call back since they didnt answer the courtesy call. How is that for customer service Columbus? Do yourselves a favor and go a few miles down the street to other locations.
