Reserved a 26 foot truck 2 weeks in advance with a dolly. Said it was guaranteed. Did not get the truck or the dolly as they were both out of stock when I arrived. Probably will not use them again.

Way too easy way in/out. Originally was supposed to pick up at San Ramon, but they are completely incompetent. Lost my reservation not once, but twice! U-Haul is very difficult to do business with, and is last choice for equipment rentals.

Our reservation was cancelled when we arrived at the location. We were told that we were late for the reservation. It was our first time to rent U-haul and not aware that we need to be on time. Confirmation email did not suggest us the reservation will be canceled if we are not showing up within certain time frame. The Sales rep had no empathy on our situation and we were so helpless. We need a one-way truck but ended up renting an in-town trunk which we had to return to the same location from 70 miles away. We paid double the price (more than 200$) and triple the time to complete our mission.

The customer service representative was extremely rude to us from the beginning. We told her that we needed a dolly and she did not put one in the truck, causing us to be delayed in our move and drive around several cities to get one for our cross country move. Also, they did not sweep out the truck prior to giving it to us.

The truck was clean and reliable with one exception. I realize that the trucks are stored outdoors but when you drive out of the lot and cannot see clearly because the windshield is so dirty, it's not a good situation. Windshields should be clean at the time of rental.

Changed my pick up location the morning of contracted service by email. I figured it out when I arrived at scheduled UHaul place. Round trip additional miles = 10. Was told that I could not be compensated for this screw up. Long line. More lost time. No customer parking, for my car. A long block walk just toget back to UHaul. More wasted time. Paying for help by the hour. Back to UHaul. Another extremely long line just to confirm mileage and gas tank full to start. More time and $. Only positive. Young man working for UHaul pulled me out of line after 15 minutes and said I had been misinformed. The mileage and fuel were correct so I could go! What a hassle! I will opt for different co. Next time without a doubt!

Very long waits due to physical location - among other things, a very narrow driveway which jammed things up. Employees had to pull trucks up when writing contracts but often got stuck in the parking lot traffic jam. My sympathies to the employees.

Due to either theft or people not returning trucks, when I arrived to pick up my reserved truck, they did not have one and could not locate one. The manager quickly figured out that there was one in the shop that needed a mirror repaired, and that they could swap out the mirror and let me take that truck. Otherwise it could have been a disaster! Good thinking "outside the box",



Don't rip people off, I returned the equipment 2hrs late and was charged for an extra day plus insurance while the equipment was probably rented to someone else. That's highway robbery.
