We made a reservation for a truck and auto transport on Monday June 25th to be picked up on Friday morning June 29th in the Panhandle town of Hereford, Texas. On Thursday (6/28), I went in to the facility where we placed our reservation, Triple H Overhead Doors, to help my roommate pick up her rental. While there, I checked in with the staff about our reservation for the next day. Later that evening, at 5:10PM, we received a text message indicating that there was no available equipment for us, leaving us in a total bind because we had to hit the road on Saturday to be in Austin for work on Monday. As we began to call around, no one in the Panhandle area had any equipment available except for a few small cargo trailers here and there, which our cars were not able to tow. When I spoke to someone in Lubbock, they reported that they were instructed to put a hold on all reservations as there was no equipment available within a 150 mile radius. Essentially, the ENTIRE area (including parts of New Mexico) was out of trucks and transports and no one at Uhaul was available or able to assist me. I was met with rude customer service members both at the contracted sites and over the phone with Uhaul personnel...that is, when I was finally able to get a hold of them. We waited on hold for a very long time on each and every call. After getting a team of my family and friends to call around more, we found a truck that actually had made it there by chance. It was 2 hours away from our town of Friona in Dalhart, TX. So we drove there and back to retrieve it and in the end we wasted 5 hours renting the truck and making the round trip. Because we had to make a day-of reservation for both a 15' truck and full auto transport, we paid over $1,000 before insurance. Our original reservation estimate was around $700. Moving is expensive enough. This experience has made this process more challenging, costly and frustrating than it should be. Your systems are clearly flawed and all personnel seemed unwilling or unable to help. As the company that monopolizes the cross-country moving industry, we expect you to do better. We hope that you can somehow compensate us for the time, travel, and money that was expended because of the errors made by the management of your operations.

Truck was supposed to be in Dumas, had to travel 45 miles each way to Dalhart to pickup. Facility is a mechanic shop and owner is the only one who can do paperwork, had to wait while he helped his customers. Truck was not clean, there were several oieces of wood and loose screws all over the floor. Did not have the moving blankets reserved, had to go back to Dumas for those and when I got there they did not have enough to complete reservation.

We returned a trailer and it was never checked back in. Working with corporate via 1-800 number is a fiasco and the customer service is horrible. Jennings if fine . . . . corporate is not.

I rent from U-haul often. The Borger location is my favorite location to rent from not only because of its short distance from my residence, but because of its personel. The one U-haul representive is especially helpful, I believe her name is Yolanda. She alway knows exactly what is onsite and can give a very close ballpark answer of equipment that will be arriving. I have been to this location many times and more often than not Yolanda is working. She must put in many hours a week. Her dedication to her company is admirable.. The location is always very proffesionally kept up and the equipment is in superior mechanical condition. Yolanda keeps the Borger location running like a well oiled machine.
