We set up for check in at time of pick up, not online pick up. We sat there for 30 minutes waiting for someone, we called the number for the location. Only got voice mail. Finally called uhaul directly, they passed me on to a woman who was very helpful. Tried walking us thru the online process. It was 94 degrees out and just the thing I wanted to avoid. Finally got the box number and code, won't open right box. Finally talked to manger of location. He put key in drop off box and code worked there. This all took from arrival to getting key 1 hour and 45 minutes. The manger on the phone was rude kept saying " I said orange box" yet the online said box 1, like I was the problem after all this headache. The woman on the phone from uhaul was very nice and patient with us. This was not a good start for what became a very long day for us.

I reserved a truck in Livingston the week prior to pickup. Why does U-Haul allow a reservation if there is not going to be a truck there…who knows? I got redirected to a store 30 miles away ( had to pay the gas difference) and the pick up time was later than originally planned, which threw off all plans. Got to the store for the pick up and the store was closed. Two other people trying to pick up trucks and trailer and could not. Had to fish the key out of the return box to get a key for a truck. No contact for pickup and had to call to get an agreement to be able to take the truck. Now i am even later due to having to wait to get the information approved. Terrible experience with U-Haul, and I would NOT recommend to anyone.
Phillip WI returned the truck in the early afternoon before the scheduled time. Nobody was at the location. I called the phone number on the business sign and was instructed to leave the key in the outdoor drop box and text a photo of the dashboard showing the mileage and gas tank level. I later received a bill that included an after hour return fee and a cleaning fee. I called to complain that neither fee was appropriate and was told that I would be contacted by an area manager. I was never contacted and my card was charged these extra fees. I have used U-Haul for several one-way moves over the years, but will never do so again.
