We were mislead from our first call at 8:30 am. We were asked very specific questions about what we were hauling which I was able to answer. I was told I would need to go almost 2 hrs to pick up the dolly that would be able to do the job we needed. When picking up the dolly the person there read off what I was hauling and sent me with the dolly. Once we tried to load the truck we found that the dolly was not large enough. The tire straps were not long enough to fit around the stock wheels and tires. Also the width of the truck was too wide to fit in the wheel pockets of the traile, which is why I was sent so far away to pick up this particular dolly. After several calls to customer service and being put on excessive hold I was directed to return the dolly to the original pick up location even though it was already closed for the day. I was also informed that if I dropped the dolly off at a location that was 45 minutes away I would not have my money credited back for up to 48 hrs upon review of a manager. I feel my time and money were wasted by your companies lack of training. When returning the dolly to the Golden CO location and explaining why I was returning the dolly I was told that no U Haul dolly’s were designed to haul a vehicle with over a 15 inch rim. I specifically explained this was a 3/4 ton truck. No chevrolet 3/4 tin truck was ever equipped with a rim smaller than 16.5”. On my fourth call to customer service trying to find a trailer to haul this vehicle I was informed that U Haul has nothing capable of hauling the vehicle I described at 8:30 am. With your company’s lack of training my day was wasted from 8:30 on. If I had been told at 8:30 am that you were unable to fulfill my needs I could have made other arrangements and started my trip on time. I feel as you are quick to charge my card for your equipment the customer should not be penalized for not wanting to make another 3 hour round trip due to your company’s mistake. Waiting up to 48hrs for a return of my funds is unacceptable. Your company was given 3 contact numbers and you have yet to call me and resolve this situation. I will be sharing this experience with your company with as many people as possible.
