The customer checkout clerk had absolutely no sense of morality, or decency. I rented a van around 4:30 pm and returned it approximately 7:05 pm. Equipment checkout and return procedure is vastly different given the current pandemic. At 7:05 pm the clerk exited the main office and was not clear in his communication as to how I should return the equipment. Based on his instructions (he simple stated for me to drop the keys in the drop box) I immediately placed the keys in the drop box and then proceeded to follow him into the main office, I couldn't, because the office had closed at 7pm. The windows were down, and I couldn't take a picture of the odometer to then upload onto my phone to prove the millage driven. More importantly, I was concern about the van windows being down overnight. I asked the clerk if he can close the windows or if he could retrieve the keys from the drop box so that I can log the millage and properly safeguard the vehicle myself and the clerk (same clerk that checked me out about 2.5 hours earlier) simply said over and over three times " I'm off the clock bro, I'm not getting paid for this" and he simply got in his vehicle and drove off as to say "that's your problem not mine." That clerk had no desire to either represent himself or U-Haul in a decent, professional, or respectable manner. U-Haul's equipment is well-maintained but my experience with their customer service was an utter disappointment.

I dropped off the truck as stated on the app. After leaving I was called by an employee yelling at me for putting the truck in the wrong place. He was rude and nasty. Your app does not properly explain the return process and where to go. I will never go to the east Rutherford location again. The employee needs training in proper customer etiquette.
Employee from reception to return center not ready to help , all they saying do by phone , the only best thing is all the time vehicles available, team are very slow response and not ready , hope they do some helpful for customers

Alex was very helpful. Iâ€™ve NEVER had a good experience picking up Uhaul equipment. Itâ€™s the Uhaul system. The check in process is very slow, regardless of whether you pre-check-in, use your phone or use the desk. With Covid-19, all of the times you have to handle your phone, your license, or anything else when youâ€™re outside of your home, itâ€™s a possibility that you will get contaminated. I need glasses to read my phone. How do you do that with gloves and a mask on?

Staff seemed clueless. Said my order was never in their system. I showed them my reservation and still nohelp. Had to do 24/7 checkout even though I couldnt get accurate picture of mileage gas because service light and check engine light were on. Very poor
App did not recognize major UHaul center as a UHaul location. Could not return the truck properly as a result. Online support could not help first 2 calls. Wanted an appliance hand truck and not a standard one. Was charged for both. Hand truck mounted on the truck came loose and I ended up paying for that too although I didnâ€™t use it. Had my own pair.
This is my second time renting from this location. Absolutely the best I've experienced from U-Haul.
Whoever I worked with that assisted and helped hook up the trailer was very good and quick. He got me out of there in less than 10 minutes and was very diligent. Thank you.

I did a reservation on Sunday for 7:am of the following Monday, it was disappointing, frustrating and upsetting to get there at the time of my reservation to find out that the equipment I had reserved was damaged. You should let the customer know if thereâ€™s an issue before arriving at the location and transfer that customer reservation to the nearest location, this way you save time for your selfs and for the customer as well. Thank you
