Clerk did not appear to speak much English. Had to find the drop off key return on my own.

I made a reservation at uhaul.com for a 6'x12' trailer and declined all coverages including "SageTow" during that process. Upon arrival at appointed time, there was no one there to handle the transaction so the convenience store clerk called someone who said he was 30 minutes away and could I wait. He then called back and assigned a trailer number I could hook up. I had to move a 26' truck to get to that trailer and hooked up the trailer alone. I asked the clerk if she needed to verify the trailer number, etc. and she just looked out the window and said it was fine and I could leave. I received an email receipt about an hour later and the "SafeTow" charge of $25.00 was added to my bill and charged to my credit card. I replied to the receipt email complaining of the charge I did not authorize and I did not sign the receipt. I also called back to the store and spoke with someone who said they could not resolve it and Uhaul would fix it in the morning. My issue is still not resolved.
Jonathan HI dropped off after hours so I didn’t speak with anyone. There were no security lights & no clear place to park.
APRIL MRecommend for 4 UHaul vans only, the hillside parking area is not 100 percent safe to park trailers. I should have returned the trailer to the Lee Highway location or Bristol location
KEVIN DChecking out the 6x12 trailer from this remote location was easy considering the fact that this was a small gas station off the beaten path. The clerk on duty was cheerful and most helpful. She insisted on lifting the heavy trailer coupling up onto the towing hitch, stating "I'm a lot stronger than I look!" with an infectious laugh! Kudos to her super service. Checking the trailer in was another story. The clerk on duty in the late afternoon seemed untrained on the process an had to call someone on her cellphone as to how to process the return. She handed her cell to me when she had the guy on the phone and he said that he would come over "soon." Hmmm. Soon wasn't soon enough, so I did the job of lifting the heavy hitch receiver myself by using a spare dolly that was luckily stashed nearby in front of an adjacent outbuilding. I then placed some heavy rocks beneath the wheels on both sides, as the trailer had to be parked into a hillside location where it would have certainly rolled down the hill onto a busy highway had I not taken the precaution of chocking the wheels properly. When I went inside the gas station to get a receipt for having returned the trailer in an undamaged condition, the guy who was supposed to have shown up to help finally arrived. He never offered to supply a receipt even when I requested one, stating "The manager will send you one by email." So far, I have still not received a proper check-in receipt. Given his inability to perform that task, I made sure I had taken cellphone pictures of the trailer from all angles just to make sure that the equipment along with the 6 blankets were returned in perfect condition. While I may indeed rent from this location again, at least I know ahead of time what to expect from personnel who may or may not know how to perform the duties necessary to handle U-Haul procedures. If I had had an extra $20 I would have tipped the young lady who I first encountered as went above and beyond to help a customer. I hope she gets the raise she deserves!
