The equipment felt unsafe and was not clean. I had an older model truck and it had way too much play in the steering wheel. When depressing the brake, truck downshifting to the point of stopping in traffic (I was just trying to slow down). All other locations inspected the vehicle WITH me before I drove off. This location did not. The staff was very, very nice, but the vehicle (at least the one I drove) needs to be upgraded.

Danielle McCarty @ A Storage Depot where the truck was picked up could not have been more helpful but the online reservation system is terrible (and I'm being kind). I reserved the truck for an 8:00am pick up and was never notified that this loction does not open until 9:00am needlees to say I had to wait an hour. This also was not my original choice for location pick up for this added 22 miles to my trip and at $1.59/mile you can imagine I was not pleased. I reserved the truck well in advance hoping to avoid any problems of this type. I hope Uhaul finds a better way to communicate and accomodate customers needs.

Have adapters for the trailer hitches. I have a 7 post hookup and the trailer is wired for a 4 post. I had to go buy one and will most likely never need it again. Other than that, everything was very satisfactory.

Customer service was terrible, no care as to my hitch ratng, or helping to hook up and verify lights work etc. There was damage to the trailer I had to go back into the facility to report.

Have the rentals available as promised. My truck wasn't there when I came to rent it. I had to come back the next morning. Everything was fine for me then but another customer with they are in his truck had not yet arrived. Too many customers that didn't return items on time made other customers suffer.

The truck I rented and that was guaranteed, was not available when I arrived. I had to wait one hour and thirty minutes for one to be returned. Interestingly enough, my truck left the lot as I arrived. Morale of the story... The early bird gets the truck, regardless of you guaranteed reservation.

My original pick-up location did not have my reserved vehicle and Uhaul was made aware from the vendor in advance. Uhaul never bothered to reach out to me in anyway to let me know and instead let me waste my time by going to the location only to be directed to a new location that added many miles to my trip that couldnt even be ignored. 10 cents off a mile is completely ridiculous and unacceptable. The service i received was also unacceptable when being promised a text with the new pickup address and reciving it 45 minutes later. Time is a very special resource on a move in day and you would expect a company like Uhaul to understand that. Unless this is addressed then I would never use the Uhaul service again - even at my own expense.

The fuse for the trailer was blown once we got to our new house it rained before we had removed everything and the truck leaked and damage some unreplacable items from family who are no longer with us we also had to dry and repack some of the boxes because they were just going to be stored in the garage

Booking online made the process fairly easy. Although my pickup location changed the day before the pickup appointment, Uhaul communicated this well through text messages. I was supposed to do a pre-scheduled pickup at a location that would have been closed at pickup time. The updated location's Uhaul representative showed early enough to keep me on schedule. The representative was a very nice man who engaged in pleasant, friendly conversation while processing my pickup. I definitely recommend that location at 5 COACHMAN DR in ELKTON, MD.

I had a reservation and was not called to see what time I even wanted to pick up. When I arrived at the office no one was there. Sign in window stated at bank, I waited over an hour for the person to return with not even an apology. I was asked by manager if I knew how to hook up the trailer, and sent on my way. I'm quite surprised your uhaul associate isn't responsible to check anything before sending me on my way? Any other place I've been they always check my lights and hook up before even allowing me to leave. Needs improvement in the customer service department!

I rented a van for 24 hrs. When I wasn't there right at 9, they almost rented it to someone else. Fortunately I got there before it happened. I had to tell him it said pick up after 9, not by 9. Then it was a filthy mess. It had stuff splashed over the doors and dash. What's worse is I had just asked the guy if it was cleaned, and he said YES. Lastly when we got the bill the next day they charged 19.99 and .79 per mile. I told them we agreed to 89.99 (bundled with 100mi) and .29 per mile over the 100. The difference was $40, so I called and asked her (Danielle) to fix the error. She said no, and that she "knows her rates". So my wife went there with the agreement, and the U-HAUL WEBSITE to show her your rates. She then had to change it, but NEVER ONCE apologized for the cleanliness issue, the near re-renting the van, or for making my wife drive up to fix a problem, which could have been done over the phone. Done with that location.

Be courteous to your customers. Upon arriving at the u haul site, the manager,"Danielle " was loud, distracted and ignorant. She did not explain any of the u haul agreement to me or asked me if I had any questions. Danielle was distracted overseeing another employee correcting him in front of another customer. During our move the truck seem uncared for and was in need of maintenance. The floor of the cab of the truck got so hot I thought it was going to burn my legs. Once we opened the back of the truck to begin moving there was no hand truck. I asked for a furniture hand truck and did not receive it. I received a phone call informing me that I forgot the hand truck. Well no one said you had to pick it up from anywhere, I thought since I asked for it , it would be provided. If your manager ,Danielle, explained where I need to go to get the hand truck or took responsibility to take care of her customers this would not have been missed. This made our move extremely difficult, in fact we where unable to move all of our furniture. When we returned the truck I filled the gas tank all the way to fill , which was very expensive. When I return to the office to return my key I was told that I would not be reimbursed for the pay because,"That's not the way u haul does it". After discussing this with Danielle the manger she agreed to reimburse me a portion of the gas. This manager never apologized and did not seem empathic. She should not work in a business that should provide customer service. She left me with the overall impression that u haul is a bad company and does not care for their customers. I would NOT recommend u haul to anyone. There are plenty of other companies in this town.

The reason it got poor and no for recommending is the fact that I ordered a 17' truck and was promised a 20' if that was not available when I reserved 10 days in advance. However when I got there the day of pickup they had nothing available except a 15'. If that was going to be the case I should not of been confirmed for the truck. So I had to get the 15' and also rent a 10'. This made my whole moving experience not a good one. Meanwhile I had people waiting to help me move while I had to argue about this screw up. The people at the local location were nice and apologetic but a dispatch person in Pa. was not and hug up on me. I will not return or recommend. UHaul will not be used by me or anyone that I told about this experience again.

Wasn't very helpful, tried to explain to her my situation and that I didn't know I had to have it back by Sunday. Charged me an extra day after telling me "it's ok, don't worry about it". Blatantly lied to me and still charged me an extra day of rental. The front desk clerk should take extra training dealing with customers and learning how to talk to paying customers. Will never comeback to this location!
