**Review Title: "Five-Star Staff, One-Star Truck — A Wild Ride Through Elwood"** Let me start with the good — because there *was* some good. The folks at this small-town U-Haul location in Elwood, Indiana were nothing short of outstanding. The facility was spotless, the customer service was top-notch, and everyone I interacted with—from Alex on the phone to the staff on-site treated me with real professionalism and care. I was in and out quickly, and everything was handled smoothly at the counter. Shout-out to the employee who walked me through the basics of the truck. Solid guy, very helpful. Now… buckle up, because once I left the parking lot, the trip took a hard left into chaos. Roughly 25 minutes into the drive, the dashboard of my 107K+ mile 15-foot truck started doing its best disco impersonation, gauges bouncing like they were on spring break, lights flickering, and a/c cutting out every time I hit a bump. And on a hot, humid Indiana afternoon? Let’s just say I was sweating like a sinner in church. About 2/3 into the trip now crawling at a humble 45 mph because the **check engine** light decided to join the party I had to start pulling over to let traffic pass. That turned my 90-minute trip into a 2.5-hour slog through overheating hell. But wait, there’s more! When I stopped to fuel up, I locked the doors like a responsible adult. Came back out only to learn that the key *does not* unlock the driver’s door because, apparently, “the ignition was recently replaced” (as casually explained by someone at drop-off). So there I was, crawling across the cabin like a raccoon in a dumpster, trying to get back in the truck. I'm 51yrs old, 6'3 and 290lbs, suffice to say I'm not nimble. Oh, and the “tow mode”? That lovely gear shift feature I was told *not* to use unless towing? It decided to turn itself on and off randomly the whole trip just to keep me on my toes. Look, I get it. Trucks get old. Repairs happen. But if this vehicle *just* came back from service in Ft. Wayne that day, someone might want to send it right back. I got a polite apology and a rundown of all the known issues… but no explanation for why this jalopy was still sent out. Would I rent from them again? Honestly, I don’t know. The **staff is phenomenal**, but if the vehicle's a coin toss between “decent ride” and “haunted lemon,” I may roll the dice elsewhere. Sincerely, Jason R.

RICHARD SBob and the U-Haul truck exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend.
KENT EThe most helpful U-Haul I have ever used
DALE BHad a slight issue with my towing wiring but we got past that and the trailer worked perfectly, and rode solid without much chatter, I packed it solid and it rode heavy, had no issues other than wind, can't blame the trailer for that.
