I'm honestly surprised U-Haul allows this location to continue operating as an authorized dealer. We have rented from this location twice simply because it is convenient, and unfortunately, both experiences have raised serious concerns. Both times, they did not have moving blankets available. There appears to be only one employee working while also handling several other unrelated businesses and services, including postage, fingerprinting, and U-Haul rentals. More concerning is the complete lack of attention to the actual rental equipment. On both occasions, no one came outside to help connect the trailer, verify that we had the correct equipment, inspect the connection, or make sure the lights and turn signals were functioning properly. We were simply checked in, told to go outside, get the equipment, and leave. There seemed to be no verification whatsoever that we even took the correct trailer. We have rented from other U-Haul locations, and our experience has been completely different. Employees have assisted with connecting the equipment and verified that the trailer lights, brake lights, and turn signals were working before allowing us to leave. That is what I would expect from a company renting equipment that will be towed on public roads. At this location, U-Haul appears to be treated as nothing more than an additional revenue stream for an already busy business, with very little attention given to customer service, equipment accountability, or, most importantly, safety. I believe U-Haul should seriously review how this location is operating under its name. When customers see the U-Haul brand, they should be able to expect a certain level of service and safety regardless of whether they are renting from a corporate location or an authorized dealer. This location does not appear to meet that standard.
