This was a horrific experience. I was lucky to get away with an imminent accident, because of the messed up transmission on the truck, and also couldn't keep the truck in a straight line at 30 mph. The truck wasn't road-safe let alone freeway-safe.That truck, and perhaps many others like it in your fleet, should not be on the road. U-Haul has a responsibility to rent safe equipment to its customers and not to put their lives at risk. I urge you to take your vehicles and equipment's maintenance seriously, and not focus so much on selling insurance coverage to on vehicles that shouldn't be on the road. Please take this matter seriously and prevent rentals of unsafe vehicles. Thank you Andre Khachikian

The turn around is very quick and cleaning the vehicles is not part of the process. Regardless, getting the equipment when needed it more important.

It appeared the van had just been returned from Arizona, by the plates. The van was very clean on the inside, although it had a musty, kinda sweaty smell. The windshield was covered with bug splatter. Recommend that windshield at the very least be washed! My expectation is if you take the time to reserve a van or truck it should be clean and deodorized in time for pickup.

When I arrived I was told my booking was for a van even though I doubled checked that it was for a ten foot truck when I reserved. Fortunately they still had a 10ft available.

At first the San Fernando equipment did not arrive in time they rerouted my reservation to North Hills California was very upset with accommodations there and decided to get one closer to Glendale where I would be moving to. I reserved the truck one week in advance for the San Fernando caitian and was very upset that truck was not available. I will never use U-Haul again for any of my moving needs.

I had horrible customer service. The lock on the truck jammed on me, so I wasn't able to move into my house on time. It prevented me from meeting with my cable company, and Cynthia did nothing to try to help me. I will never come to this location or refer a friend!

The pick up I was given this time was truly filthy from top to bottom. As well as inside. Hard to see where the scrapes, scratches and dents were on it. It's odd because I was the first one there at 7 am. And there were a couple of perfectly clean ones next to the one I was given.

Spent $70 filling up the tank yet that still wasn't enough to keep the lady that checked the truck from complaining. Bought an extra box that i was going to return to get my money back but decided not to even mention due to her attitude. Probably won't be back anytime soon.

A second cashier when office first opens may be needed. The line for reserved appts spilled out of the office doors, having to wait in unshaded sun for over 20 minutes. I think if it wasn't so hot, it would have been more tolerable.

The truck smelled like cigarettes. The back gate got stuck in the top frame and the road assistance is a joke

Needs to double check the equipment. Ball mount retaining pin was not inserted prior to departure. Resulted in the auto transport with the vehicle being towed separating from the tow vehicle at the Reseda Blvd entrance of the 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch California

It's not a huge deal breaker or anything but, since the only real entrance is on Los Feliz and the entrance is also the vehicle return entrance. If the employee checking in trucks is not quick, traffic can back up onto the street. When I returned my trailer there were 3 trucks in the line that were being checked in and I almost had 3 cars run into the trailer I was returning because it was half in the lane of traffic. I'm sure this doesn't happen a lot, just when you get a lot of people returning at once and there is only one employee checking in equipment. Just something to be aware of. Every other aspect of my experience was flawless.

I made two phone calls to find out if my son was there. I was told the manager would call me back. He did not. This blatant disregard for the welfare of people who Rent your vehicles is NOT acceptable.
