Online app took a very long time. Keys were in the incorrect lock box. Lost an extra 30 minutes of time trying to sort problems out and get keys to the truck

The items we had rented were not in the truck--unfortunately the store was closed due to pandemic. I would have appreciated to know that ahead of time. The self pick-up process needs to be streamlined. Web sign in was not user friendly. But it was probably due to the pandemic.

Let the costumers know the entrance to where the truck pickup is on York street and not Victoria street. Especially, now with the office closed. This information needs to be on the confirmation and instructions email. Thanks!

The facility was fine, the staff amazing and very friendly. Issue with the truck ... it wasn't serviced and broke down. Some Place Safe was quick to respond and connected me with the area manager, Zach. The customer service from the location and from Zach, the UHaul area manager, was perfect. Zach was a pleasure to work with. He was very patient and understanding of my frustrations, given it took 5 hours to fix the truck, and hence the move was 5 hours delayed. Zach effectively diffused a tense and sensitive situation.

I requested a pickup truck at Some Place Safe. I got a confirmation email from U-Haul that said "Your order is confirmed." In very small print it added that the truck would be at a different location on the other side of the city - I didn't notice until I went to pick up the truck at SPS and they didn't have it. This was needlessly confusing and very inconvenient. Luckily the folks at SPS had a cargo van that I was able to use instead. I would have appreciated better communication from U-Haul about where I could pick up the vehicle I requested, or alternatives if it would be unavailable.

The drop off area was very confusing to navigate. I went to the address, ended up at the storage unit. By chance I found the back parking lot where the trucks needed to be dropped off. There was no signage indicating where to go to drop the truck off, and the instructions sent to me had no details of this. Even after I dropped the truck off, I only knew this was the spot because there were other trucks, otherwise I would not have known. By chance I found the drop box for the key and contract. The mobile app was not working and also did not allow me to upload me gas meter and odometer. I called uhaul after I dropped the truck off to send them the pictures I took. Despite doing this, the location still charged me for a gas fillup. I had to call in and the customer service representative saw the pictures matched what I got the van with. Overall, this is the last time I'm using uhaul. My initial reservation was changed with me being properly notified. I had to drive out of town to get a truck and pay more gas out of my own pocket. The manager I spoke with to make this correction did seem to care much for my problem and was very passive about the situation. I had to call uhaul on the phone way too many times about this, very poor experience. I will gladly spend more money to avoid all this mishaps. This isn't the first time I've had these issues with uhaul, I've had an issue on nearly every reservation I've made in the past.

I had to call the 1888 number to verify pricing as when I booked it the price was 169.00 for a 20 ft truck. But when I had to pay the price came up to over 300.00. That is when I started to argue as the price was 169.00. The girl was not even going to do anything so I called the 1888 number myself. Long story short was it went to over 300.00 due to u haul letting me have the truck for 3 days and they added in extra milage. It did go back down to the 169.00 after taking off the extra days and extra mileage. The girl behind the desk while talking to the 1888 number was almost roiling her eyes as the woman on the phone going over the 169.00 price I was given. This was a way way haul. To find the office location was difficult as it was in a building location amongst 30 other business. You have to drive around searching for the correct building then the correct door to go in etc. I would not go back due to location difficulties finding and lack of customer service at this location. I would also suggest if your to buy their tape for boxes..don't. Go to home depot and buy it there.. better quality and you use less than the u haul tape. U haul had good boxes at a fair price. Also I did receive a one month free storage which was included in the 169.00 truck rental price and I did take advantage of that.

She went above and beyond to check for my friends cap that he left in the van and hold it for him to pick up. Thank you Amanda!!

You have to check the trucks when you receive them and clean them if required. It was my fault not to check inside the truck when I got the keys just because I trusted the system and I thought it would be clean. But I am so disappointed because half of the truck was not usable and we had to make 2 trips to finish the move.
