I was charged an EZ fuel charge even though I brought it back at the same level. I have called twice and asked to speak to a manager. Each time I was told a manager would call me back and it's been over a month and I have not received a call to discuss my over charge. I rent Uhaul trucks/vans a lot. I will never rent from here again nor will I recommend this place.

The staff at the store was fine. The idiot that answered the call at the call center said that I could rent the truck for 6 or 12 hours. So I asked did you want me to drop it off near midnight or 4:00 in the morning? You need to train these dummies in a little common sense! The engine light was on when I picked up the truck. When I called back (to the call center) and asked to speak with Cody at the Hayward location, I was told he had left for the evening. When I brought the truck back, Cody was there and said he hadn't left the site.

The second person who assisted us did not properly update our contract when we needed to update to a bigger truck, and thus the mileage was incorrect. So when we tried to do an after hours self checkout at the drop-off location, the online contract thought we went over by 10K miles (which brought with it a $4K charge). We corrected it in the morning with the second location but that meant being uneasy about the drop-off the entire night.

Guy was rude and not much help but the workers were good and answered questions I had.i didn't like how I needed a winch and was told on phone by customer service there was one on trailer.i get there and no winch

If you tell a customer a hand truck is available, make sure it REALLY is when they come to rent the truck! I was told I could rent one with the truck, and when I got there, there were none left!! Also, if there is a line, make sure that at every staff person is trained to acknowledge those in line, with a message saying, "Good morning/afternoon, we we will do our best to serve you, and we thank you for your patience!" Please CLARIFY where the CUSTOMER parking is! I parked in what I THOUGHT was customer parking, but received a call from U-Haul, that my car was in the wrong place and would be towed! I didn't actually listen to the message until almost 24 hours after the call! Fortunately, it hadn't been towed, but how scary that was!! OFFER better mileage deals! Don't use insurance as a scare-tactic add-on! ALL trucks--even the smallest--should have a RAMP! OTHERWISE loading takes WAAAAY TOO LONG!!!

When I received my final bill by email my credit card had been charged for two rental charges instead of one so that I was overcharged $29.95 plus tax. This is not good.

I cant imagine how you could make this a more pleasant experience. I expected a haggle as to fuel, return ETC, instead the young man asked for the key, did a quick inspection, took his cell phone into the cab of the truck, came back to me and said, "19.00 dollars for fuel will be added to the card on file, "Have a nice day" This was the easiest part of the entire trip. Thanks.

Waited for several minutes waiting for attendant to check in, as stated on singage- finally went inside and told to back up to park trailer, waited for inspection for several more minutes to then be told it's fine? Glad I didn't purchase extra insurance...as it obviously didn't matter to attendant receiving drop off. Place was a joke-

Uhaul as a company needs more competition. It's clear that the only reason why they get away with their horrendous customer service is because there are no other options to renting trailers.

After I picked up the van I rented I looked at my bank statement and I was charged a total of five times. When I brought this to the attention of the clerk in the office when I dropped off the vehicle the response I got did not ease how I felt. I simply was told "Well, you will just have to check with your bank tomorrow (this was on a Sunday). She told I wasn't charged but I was not reassured. But - come Monday I, in fact, was charged only once. The outcome was correct but the ambiguous response I received left me with one sleepless night.
