Cliff was fantastic in assisting us with the pick up of the rental. However, the entire rental experience was horrific. I was supposed to rent a 16 foot truck at a UHAUL less than 1/4 mile from my home. MULTIPLE times I was contacted that the vehicle was not available and the agents locally kept switching me to larger vehicles. The day before my move date 3/29/2025 I was called and emailed that the location near me did not have the vehicle and I had to go pick up an even larger truck 25 miles WEST of my home in Inverness Florida to Homosassa Florida when I was going east to Salt Springs Florida. This added 25 miles each way on MY car (50 miles) and 50 more miles on this enormous truck they provided. SO I had 50 miles I had to pay on the truck in distance---probably more gas for a 26 foot vehicle versus a 16 foot vehicle..50 miles on my personal car to get there and return home. AND that distance added 3.5 hours onto my day. My final bill was way more than expected. It should be adjusted for the truck miles and my miles. Then, driving to Salt Springs we passed numerous UHAUL sites with vehicles. I almost feel that this last minute switch out was to jack up my overall rental price. I just had rented a PENSKE from Louisiana to Florida and encountered none of these issues - trucks not available and switching me up to a giant truck MILES from my home. I had spoke with CSR "Shannon" a regional rental facilitator all these changes in the days leading up to my rental date and location at SignsFast in Inverness (US 41) to Harbor Safe Storage in Homosassa (US 19) and costs were NOT anticipated. Absolute horrible experience.
Kathleen TLet the customer know that the location they requested was not available sooner than the day before pickup. We had to pickup a truck 40 minutes away instead of 5 minutes.
