Bullet points summarized at the end: Details here: The only thing I wish we knew before hand was the procedure with returning the truck. It had been a couple years since we returned a uhaul and we didn't have to do as much as we did last night. (It was dark and cold and I hate freezing like I was. My fault though) . We just wish that we were told it would be easier to have the app. Which we do now know. Because we plan on using the same company next week or the week after. But we had to take pictures of the front, the back, the inside, the odometer and the gas gage, and both sides of the truck. I was complaining at first, to my poor husband, about it and being cold and wishing she would have mentioned it (I'll explain in a moment why she may have missed mentioning it) but once we started going through the process it was simple. And I was able to take most of the pictures from inside my warm car. First of all my wonderful husband used to be a truck mechanic and drove huge cross road big rig type trucks. He HAD (back then not now) the license for it. So I always have him drive these for me. He said it was like driving a tank. It felt like him and my friend were safe in the truck when he drove it. But we were in the office for 20 or more minutes to get the truck even rented. And that was on me. I thought I had everything ready to go but I needed one thing and it took me forever to finally get the information for the BEST OFFICE WORKER EVER. I have no clue if she was annoyed with me because she was so kind and professional. They weren't even the closest uhaul to our storage or even the cheapest. But because of the way she treated me on the phone and their online reviews I saw, I felt like I was supporting a local Michigan Owned company. Or at the very least the locals who worked there. That's rare. And that is why I picked them. And it did cost us I believe 18 miles more to use them instead of others. But that receptionist I'm telling you is someone who raises a companies business. And I plan on going back. Because, imo, she would have probably told us the entire process of returning the vehicle if she would have realized we needed it. But with all the crap I put her through I truly do not blame her. Also, keep in mind you will get a text that asks you to take a picture of the license plate BEFORE you leave the lot. We didnt see this. But just a heads up. And in my opinion it's a good idea to have the app on your phone. It made things go much more smoothly once we did that last night. I'm a talker. If you can't tell so here are my keypoints summarized. 1. Front desk exceptional 2. Easier if you download their app on phone 3. Be prepared to take pictures before and after 4. They give you the hometown feel and take care of you. 5. I didn't see any hidden charges. 6. We WILL be going back to this UHAUL location 7. Receptionist deserves top pay. She raises the companies value for me. (The way she treated me on the phone was why I chose them)
