We waited in line for over an hour- there were only 2 people working behind the counter. They almost gave away the truck I reserved to the person directly in front of me in line even though I had reserved this truck weeks beforehand. When returning, we waited to be checked out, was then told to go inside to check out, waited in another line, to finally only be told that there was no need for me to wait in the line at all because they would be emailing me. Overall a very frustrating experience and will not be returning.

I recently confirmed my reservation with a customer service agent unfortunately I stayed home on the phone with her for an hour and six minutes to confirm a reservation or to make minor changes this is the first time in 25 I am so upset with your company years I am so upset with your company. 10 advance and my nearest U-Haul location recently I've been told that they will call me a day before my pick up to confirm if there's equipment available this process is ridiculous.

Hello, The only reason I did not give an excellent rating is due to the wait to pick up the reserved truck. I did the pre-signup stuff online and still had to wait in line for over an hour to pick up the truck. Possibly look into a means to check in people that have done the pre-signup vs the people to whom havent. That hour I waited, took away from the hour I could have used the truck due to when I had to have it returned.

Manager was RUDE!!!. She complains to her employees and gripes that she cant even eat because Clients come in and bother her. I told her when I was there if he was so unhappy that she should find another job. I will drive 50 miles out of my way so I NEVER go back there. I have rented a uhaul 2 times this month.

My issue was not so much with this store other than the lack of coverage. My issue is the store I had reserved my truck at on Shadeland Ave did not have a vehicle for me. They did not contact me to advise me I would not have a vehicle and had to drive further to get another truck. It cost me more to drive not only further with my vehicle but with the rental as well. The gentleman at the Shadeland location was listed as the owner and seemed like he had no clue on anything. When I called the number for this location I got customer service which told me no vehicle was ready until 6P. Then no one on the phone could give me a straight answer or put me in contact with the location(which number I called) to verify if I was wasting my time. When I picked up the truck I was over a hour late getting my furniture. Then because I had to return the vehicle to same location and not the one close to where I live I had to drive an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes to drive there and back. I could not drop off the truck today as I worked at 5A until 5P so my only option was to drive this back to other side of Indianapolis and drop keys off in the shop. I do not like that as I am not there to see if they try to ding me for other issues. I thankfully was only charged the few miles over the 75 I paid for.

We had to wait in line for 45 minutes. The location is severely understaffed and lacks leadership. Workers are unapologetic for long waits.

got there on time took 45mins to get checked out. should have a exspress line for people that have payed and filled out on line. also didnt like the fact that the guy there was on the speaker phone talking to clients and they where giving credit card numbers and drivers numbers on SPEAKER PHONE everyone heard there bussiness you never know who is in the line and thats a easy way to have identy stolen. made me nervous about when i booked the truck.

Kimberly Wagner did a terrible job in the area of customer service. She was very cold and unwilling to help. My reservation was sent to the wrong location. I asked her if she could switch my reservation because I was in her location to pick up the truck. Her location is the one closest to my house and since I am charged by the mile I did not want to go to a farther location which would cost me more in mileage. I confirmed with her that the phone # I called to make the reservation was the branch I was at. She stated I must have talked to the customer service line and they put me at a different location. She said all she could do was send a request via the computer to the location that had my reservation and I would have to just wait until that location processed it. She didn't know how long but it was not going to be instant. I confirmed she did have a truck available. I asked if there were other options like canceling the one at the other branch and making me a new one at her location and she said no. She again said that I would have to wait and moved on to other work. I actually called myself (while I was waiting) and was able to have the customer service line switch the reservation over within seconds. I do not understand why Kimberly could not do that. Also, while I was waiting for Kimberly (a second time after getting the reservation sorted out myself) to process my vehicle she and 2 other co-workers got into a discussion (in front of myself and other customers) about how horrible the customer service line is and how they don't know what they are doing. She said they often make a lot of mistakes because they don't know what the branches have and do not have as far as equipment (the discussion was between Kimberly, another female employee and a male employee). Extremely unprofessional. What employees bash their own company in front of customers? The entire process was very time consuming and I received terrible customer service from Kimberly. She did not apologize for the reservation error nor did she attempt to help me or offer other options. A customer should not have to call the customer service line to get a reservation issue resolved while standing at the U-Haul branch. I would assume something simple like this could be resolved by an employee of the company instantly. Kimberly did not offer me a discount or even attempt to make the situation right. One of the worst customer experiences of my life.

I arrived at the equipment return location and no one came. I unhooked the trailer. When I finished a large black guy came out and chewed me out for unhooking there and not waiting longer because he wanted me to unhook by the other trailers. Very slow service overall.

The building was EXTREMELY HOT and I waited in line for 40 minutes. There were only 3 people in line ahead of me. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, but the wait was excessive!

I've rented at this location before with no issues. However, this time the wait to pick up truck exceded 20 mins. Returning the truck produced a 10 minite wait.

This was my first time using the U-Haul location in Castleton-Indianapolis. (In the past, I've gone to the U-Haul location near 52nd & Keystone). When I brought back the truck to the Castleton location, I did not know that the procedure for returning the truck was different that the other U-Haul location on Keystone. When I walked in to the Castleton location after returning the truck, I prepared to finalize the payment at the front counter with one of the workers, and get a receipt. However, I walked in and just got a few looks but no one said anything. Finally, a male staff person pointed outside the door and said, "he'll take care of you". I did not know what he meant, by "He'll take care of you". (For the other U-Hauls, I always walked inside and everyone was done inside). I continued to stand there and the worker at the counter left. No one said anything else. I stood there alone for a few minutes. Then a female staff walked to the counter and I told her, "I'm returning the truck"! She looked at the paperwork, then gave it back to me; then she walked outside and said something to a worker outdoors where I returned the truck; then she came back in, but still did not tell me anything and she also walked to the back area. I continued to stand there; then I noticed a worker outside getting in the truck and checking the mileage, etc. Then the worker drove the truck to the back of the building. I didn't know what to do next. Then, the female worker came back to the front counter and said, "Oh, he probably didn't know you were waiting inside and he probably sent your receipt to your email." Then she asked, "What was your name again?" I told her my name again, and she printed me a paper receipt and handed it to me. I immediately asked her, "How much was the total cost?" She looked at the paper and told me and walked to the back area again. **I guess I was not aware that they had a different procedure for customers when returning a truck. I did not know that I didn't need to come in. It was frustrating, and humiliating. I wish the inside workers would have given me some kind of guidance about their return procedure, instead of having me stand there not knowing what to do after I returned the truck.

The alternator wasn't working.The manager who closed out my check-in from the roadside assistance was not very empathetic about the three hours I had to spend trying to get them the truck.

Corporate needs to sincerely visit this office as a customer. I was not greeted, given a drop off receipt, and didn't even know the drop off process was over until the gentleman walked away. I waited a rather long time to check in my rental and two other customers were helped before me and several others that were already there waiting before I even arrived myself. I informed the gentleman that I couldn't pull my truck into the check out bay because it was blocked by other rentals. I was asked to back my rental up but told the man I couldn't because it was blocked at that point by other trucks waiting to check in as well. The truck was not inspected by the check in gentleman which made me nervous because the truck had a lot of damage when I originally picked it up and while the damage was labeled and I took pictures of the truck during my pick up, I wanted to ensure that it was documented as no new damage was done. This location is severely under staffed and very unorganized. The only words spoke to me by the check in gentleman was "is this your email?". The check in gentleman was not rude but was very very slow, was listening to music, and overall not helpful. I have used Uhaul many times and will continue but this location needs a lot of help. I would not recommend this location and was very disappointed with my experience.
