The back of the truck was covered in sewing needles, and. As well as tye dolly mount came off the side of the wall, I was charged 7 dollars for a dolly because of their faulty equipment. When the issue was brought to the attention of management he simply stated that the cheap plastic zip tie was broke. As well as the facility had 1 man working on a weekend. Common sense is that the weekend is when you are going to have to rent out the most truck, this required an 45 minute wait to turn tye truck back in. I will be going back to Penske for the next truck I rent.

When I went to drop the truck off, there was noone working in the sales area. I waited a half an hour, with several other people, while a guy outside, who was apparently the only person working, was trying to put a tarp on something. Finally, someone told me there was a drop off box for keys, so I used that. There was someone's cell phone sitting on the counter, a carton of cigarettes and everything. Could have been a huge opportunity for theft.

When picking up my 900am reservation there was only one man working on 5-5-18 at this location and had at least 20 people standing in line it took me almost an hour to get my 900 am reservation that i did the quick check in for also. This place needs more help.

I had a pick up time for 8am. I arrived at 7:55 and waited in line until 9:15 before I was helped. One person working on a Saturday? This has been an issue each and every time I come there. I have rented 3x total and have been there many more times buying boxes. Its always understaffed.

The overall experience of "reserving" a truck with UHaul was extremely disappointing. My expectation of a reservation is that it is a precise date and time. UHaul's online reservation system offers minimal transparency at best that the date and time is a "preference", not an actual reservation. Additionally, confirmation of the date, the time, the truck, the location did not occur until the day prior to my moving day. As a result, I found out less than 24 hours in advance of my preferred time that pick-up would be delayed by 5 hours. I was renting a 20' truck and had a dozen friends/family engaged to help; I find it impossible to believe that any customer would not be irate in this circumstance. Staff at each given site was efficient and friendly. However, I'll not be using or recommending UHaul in the future.

The truck was available, but the requested dolly was not put in the truck like we were told and there were no furniture blankets immediately available after we reserved 24. Even four hours later and another trip back to the U-Haul location, there were only seven blankets available. They were very sorry and nice, but it didn't help the frustration of not getting what we were promised.

nothing really wrong with the drop off location overall. just dingy/dark. My issue was the rental process. I called the GoUHAUL number, reserved a unit to pick up at the drop location. I received a confirmation number via email. When I got to the location to pick up, they did not have one. What? The reservation got cancelled because nobody had one. What good is a reservation number then? Never got a call or email to alert me to this issue. My intent was to leave at 3am to get to my destination by 730am pick up my load and get back to work by noon. Long story short, nobody could get me a trailer till 8m Tuesday, which put me 5 hours behind and thus stuck in rush hour traffic in Chicago at 430pm. Needless to say to job that I needed to get started on Tuesday afternoon is not getting started until now which put me WAY behind schedule. I'm VERY unhappy because my customer that spent $60,000 on a camper is EXTREMELY upset that we can't deliver as promised.

The tire tie downs on the auto transporter were covered in snow and frozen solid with ice. This made it difficult to properly secure the vehicle and the straps continue to loosen over time. One tire strap was frayed at the end and was difficult to insert into the ratchet.

Rented a 26 foot truck a month prior, called to confirm a 26 foot truck the day prior, they confirmed. I showed up and they only had a 15 foot truck for me. Fortunately, I did not have a long distance to go and making two trips was not a huge issue. I pulled away and they called me 10 minutes later saying they forgot to put the dolly and blankets in the back. Had to drive back. Because it was a smaller truck and I had to make two trips, they charged me double miles. I feel that’s ridiculous. Next time I move, I will not return.
