I had the absolute worst time checking in and checking out my rental. I will never, ever NOT go to a physical Uhaul location ever again. The gas station attendants gave me a hard time, which I know they aren't employees of Uhaul but it's part of the atmosphere and safety actually. Additionally, when I went to sign in to get the vehicle I used the link in the text message I got from Uhaul to do so. It asked me for my phone number and signed me in. Well it said customer service counter assistance needed. I had to call Uhaul and had to sit in the phone for 45 minutes because for some reason Uhaul has created to separate accounts for me, one of which is associated with my phone number and the other with my email. When I finally got logged in the photo thing for my "selfie" refused to work and the customer service lady had to "tweek" some settings because everytime I would try to submit a picture it would refresh the whole log in. I had to try this 6 or so times, reentering in all my information each time before the associated decided to try to help fix the issue. At some point I had to take pictures of the van and it was parked on the edge of an embankment that was steep and went down into moving traffic so I couldn't really get a picture safely. Couldn't use my phone number for the contact number because again for some reason I have two uhaul accounts, had to use my husband's number, then of course couldn't use his number for the emergency contact because I'd had to use it for the main number. The physical Uhaul itself was fine. However, surprise, surprise, when I went to check it back in I yet again had issues and yet again had to call customer service who then proceeded to tell me he would leave a note and I could just turn in the keys without doing a check in. This is my first and last time using the mobile check in option at anywhere that isn't an actual uhaul business. Just FYI there is ZERO in person customer service at these locations because the actual locations the self have NOTHING to do with Uhaul and will harass you as if you are retarded and don't know what a key box is when your issue is you can't get the code to the lock box because the app isn't working. Calling the number and speaking to people is frustrating because they can't actually see what you're dealing with and while both of the individuals I spoke to were VERY nice and VERY sweet, it should not take 45 minutes to pick up a Uhaul when the whole point of the mobile check in is to make it fast and easy. That being said, the physical Uhaul van I used was clean and is great shape, and like I said the employees I spoke to were very nice. But they need to shut down this location. And for the love of everything fix the photo system in their mobile check in. I feel like I have been traumatized lmao. I have used Uhaul many times and I always go to a physical location. I have NEVER had these kinds of issues there. I HIGHLY recommend NOT using the Uhaul mobile check in. Just bite the bullet and go to a physical location even if it's far away.
Amber VNot clearly labeled at all. The person inside didn’t understand English, and it took 25 minutes just to figure out where to park it
Andrew CWhen I went to pick up the truck, the store owner handed me a cell phone to talk to someone Else. There was no dolly or anything else I had ordered. The store clerk told me I needed to go to an old storage shed in the back of the gas station to find myself 12 furniture pads. The individual on the phone told me it would be several hundred dollars more than I was quoted. When I called her on it, she stated she did not know where her amount came from. The owner of the gas station and the woman on the phone spoke only a foreign language to each other, I was not able to know what they were saying, in reference to my renting the truck. I would not use them again for any reason.
William OHad to rent the vehicle over a cell phone. What a Shit Show. Had to speak DL#, CC# into someone else’s cell phone, not secure, not convenient, Not Acceptable, Never Again!
