We were going to use this location for our free uhual storage unit that was offered with the truck purchase. I think when going through uhual there is a certain standard across the board that has always been met for me. However, this uhual storage unit has no lighting, the units were dirtier than a barn, and the design was very very tight so fridges, couches, beds, etc would not make it across any of the many corners. It was very disappointing and we had to scramble to find a new place to unload. I'm not even sure if this building would pass structural codes, it was very sketchy. It was also more expensive monthly than nicer and bigger ones offered elsewhere in town. The attendant was very professional and nice.

The gentleman there told me to contact one 800 U-Haul and I did and my question was why did I not get any money back for returning it to days early and a gentleman said we can't do nothing about it and that's about what he said I will not use U-Haul ever again I'm not paying $500 for three days of use of a U-Haul

Make sure trucks and tow trailers are repaired and in working order before the customer uses them. My first truck had a bad battery which turned out to be a bad alteternator. Was upgraded to a bigger new truck at no extra charge. The second tow trailer I was issued didn't have working right turn signal or right taillight or brake light. I didn't notice until my truck was loaded and my car was on the tow dolly. Took back to uhaul and the guy couldn't fix it but did compensate me with an extra day of rental. The people that work at this location are very nice but please make sure things are inspected and repaired before renting them. Thank you.

It would be helpful when a vehicle breaks down in Joplin that someone from Joplin or Webb City would be called in to do the service. We had to wait for 2 hours for someone from Pittsburg, KS to find us.

Fix your truck the transmission kept messing up. Would not shift right. We told the person at the store about it. He said he would have someone take a look at it, but he was already renting it back out to someone else not even caring about the feedback I was trying to give him about it messing up.

Got in a truck with 0 fuel and was told if I brought the veichle back at a 1/4 tank then I would be reimbursed $25 on my bill. It took almost $40 just to bring it to a 1/4 tank and I never received my reimbursement. I was also charged twice and both times for different amounts. I called the office 3 times to get the issue resolved only to be told someone would contact me.... that never happened either. Long story short I will never rent from uhaul again and hope you don't either..

On September 7, 2016 I ordered and reserved a 10' cargo van to be in Joplin, Mo on October 1, 2016. On September 29th Uhaul called and explained that they could not now provide a 10' cargo van, but would have a 20' van available. I explained all I needed was a 10' van and that is what I reserved and expected to find in Joplin on Oct 1st. They advised the closest 10' van was in Columbus, Ks, which was 20 miles north of Joplin. I then advised UHaul I was on a bicycle tour across Oklahoma and would be in Joplin, Mo, not Columbus, Ks on Oct 1st. They said all the could do was provide a 20' van for the same price. I called back later and advised I would accept the 20' van, but was very disappointed as the 20' van would cost more in fuel to return to Ponca City, Ok, my final destination. When we arrived in Joplin we started loading our equipment into the 20' van, but when we started the vehicle, the check engine light came on, making it impossible to use. UHaul then advised the only truck available was a 26' cargo van, which is now 16' longer than originally ordered and although they had a 10' van on the lot explained we could not take that vehicle. This same situation happened in 2013 in Michigan where I had to accept a much larger truck than ordered in order to get back to my destination. Based on these two separate experiences, I could not and would not recommend the use of UHaul for any reason and would advise you not to trust their reservations program under any circumstances! What can you do to improve the experience for the next customer, provide the equipment that was ordered and reserved and do what you say you will do!

The bed of the pickup truck had not been swept. It had a short table leg in it and some broken glass. I was over charged for the rental; it appears 100 miles was accidentally entered. I spoke to a person at the local store and it was credited back. He was courteous and respectful. I appreciated his professionalism.

When I picked up my truck I was asked to agree to the amount of gas in the truck, without viewing the truck first. When I got in and drove about 2 blocks down the road, I noticed that the gas gauge was almost a quarter of a tank lower than they had originally told me. I called in and was told to just take a picture of the gas gauge and let them know when I dropped the truck off. I asked to speak to someone in the actual store, but was told I couldn't. When I dropped the truck off, I had to put way more gas in it than I should have or was threatened to be charged an outrageous amount, even though I had the picture the lady told me to take. I also had to call in and extend my rental, due to an unexpected occurance. I was told that I could only have the truck for a few more hours, but would be charged a full day. When I asked if I could keep it the full 24 hours, I was informed that they don't normally do that and I was given extreme attitude. The only helpful person was the gentleman who checked in my truck. He was kind and courteous. Everyone else I had to deal with, could use a lesson in customer service.
