Experience with this U haul location given me a thought, U haul really don't have any standards or perhaps U haul does not know how to keep up standards if there is any, especially this Red Bridge Market location. I've been to many U haul pick up places, including in Alaska so I am aware some difficulties that the manager has to face here and there. However this place was disaster compared to other U haul stores. First, this person running this place as manager, runs liquor store, that is his full time work. He could not, or was not available to help U haul customer as he should. He is either busy with customer at the liquor store or helping out customers at the liquor store, when it comes to U haul, customer has to do everything for him. When I was going though checking in process for the trailer, giving my personal information and driver's license next to strangers, he asked me move aside at the counter so he could ring up the 'better margin' customers first. Personally I do not think this place is suitable for U haul checking in, especially running liquor store at the same time. Second, safety is not there. Thankfully the trailer I was renting was in decent condition, other than it was dirty inside and the tire pressure was at 40 PSI, which it should have been 65, as its written on tires. For attaching the trailer, he ask me to attach it and call him when its done. Usually the lot attendant or staff would help you for backing up or help with chains or something and make sure its attached safely. This guy did not do any of that. I had to back up my vehicle to trailer myself attach this 6x12 cargo myself. Yes, I am capable doing this but it would have been nice if I could feel like a customer too but I understand he has other customers to help. As he asked, I called him after I attached the trailer to my vehicle, he comes out just takes picture of attachment and goes back inside and saying that I'm good to go. Didn't check the trailer overall condition at the time of rental and no light test. I did the light test myself. Returning was same thing. I did all the work, I went inside of liquor store he says just leave it where it was and I'm good to go. Very disappointed to U haul, not even checking how dealers performing.
ALEXANDER RPicking up a uhaul from a convenient store not in the best neighborhood is not recommended. Then I had to wait forever to get it as he kept helping customers that were behind me at the store. Everything hand to be reentered in the computer since he said that the stuff did not transfer..horrible experience
AMY BIncapable of renting or returning U-Haul correctly. Overcharged accidentally $8,000 for mileage in a 12 hour time frame for 34 miles driven. It was corrected after lengthy phone call with the company, but gross incompetence. I would never suggest utilizing this location to anyone.
