We were having mechanical problems with our plane so had to rent a U-Haul to get home to Sandy Valley, NV (no other car rentals in LonePine, CA) We had to sign up for the u-Haul at a True Value Hardware store and pick up the truck at a location a mile away...luckily the folks at the hardware store were able to give me a ride to pick up the truck...I appreciated their courtesy. The inside of the cab was dirty with someone else's gum wrappers in the cup holders and dirty dashboard.

First off, the man who opened up was late and when we pulled in no one came out to greet us although he saw us waiting for him. We had no idea there was a drop box since we've never traveled one way. Finally when the man came out he told us we needed to do the unhooking of the trailer and we had to park the truck. We explained to him we were not aware of that and that uhaul told us we could just drop off at the location closest. We also informed him that we were running late for our new jobs and he responded with, "I didn't schedule you." When he finally came out to the truck because we didn't know how to unhook the trailer we said we had to go and he said, "get the fuck on then." Prior to pulling up at the drop off location we had to fill the tank three times to get it to 3/8 of the tank and we made sure it was cleaned out. The day after our drop off we received an email stating that we dropped off at 9 and the tank was less then what we filled it too. So not only was he rude, he lied and is charging us about $90 falsifying that we failed to comply with uhauls policy. How can uhaul do business with people like this? I called to make a complaint and the woman I spoke with, Veronica, was also due. She kept cutting me off and had no sympathy for my situation. Once I called her out on her rudeness and he lack of good customer service she somewhat changed her attitude. As a customer who has spent hundreds of dollars on your company, I feel offended by the lack of customer service. Is this how you treat people who spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on making your company what it is? Is this the motto for your company? How do you correct shady transactions only based on your contract with these "drop off locations" ? Do the customers have no say in these charges? Does uhaul just accept these charges and penalize hard working and honest customers? I am mortified with how uhaul conducts business and I will not continue to do business with a company such as this if you do not investigate and cater to your customers.

It was 100 miles round trip from the location promised for pickup. I'm 70 yrs. old and I didn't need the extra stress on this move. Lost an entire day just driving to pick truck up. Not Happy. Saving grace was I was given extra day and miles.
