I was very irritated when I received a call the following morning asking where the truck was when I had returned it the night before. The rep then said “oh! Let me check and I’ll call you back”....she never called back and apologized. She needs a lesson in customer service ASAP

Well for starters you can reply to emails. I love this store however my complaint is with the customer service rep who caused me great stress during the holidays, had me lose out on $1,000 because of a commitment that I had made with Del Amo Motorcycle. I had to drive out to Orange County alone, because i had scheduled help my first trip. The first night there I could not get the hitch because I needed to schedule it for a two hour service and Barbara Customer Service Representative, told me that everything was going to be fine. I told her it was a new car!!!!! I called that night very upset I thought that you guys would take care of this! At the end of the day this cost me a total of 4 hours missed at work and I paid $120.00 , gas included. Those were dollars I didn't have. I mean it was paid but I did not plan that in my budget. The inconvenience was horrible during the holidays too and I had done everything on my end to ensure that I was going to have this vehicle returned back to the dealer on the agreed Sunday. So, I will continue to be a uhaul fan of the employees at the Crenshaw location.

Was VERY frustrated with the miscommunication! I reserved a truck and at the last minute was told to pick it up at another location. Then I was told that I could place the reservation with 1 debit card, then use another debit card to pay for it when I turned the truck in. But, they took the money out of my account immediately & I wasn't allowed to use another card when I turned the truck in. Lastly, the storage situation was even worse! They booked the storage unit for the wrong date. Then, sent me to a second location where they did not have a unit the size I needed! Finally, on my 3rd storage location I was able to place my stuff in storage. Oh, this was after the guy who initially booked me in, said the 1st month was free, but when I got to the storage they said it wasn't free. Several phone calls later, it was determined that the 1st month was indeed free. SMH!!

First of all, Thank you for asking. When we picked up the truck... The associate noted first that the tank showed 3/4 of a tank, and then changed it to 1/4 tank and initialed the correction. We filled the tank back up to the 1/4 tank mark as promised as your contract requested on return. However, when we arrived, Tracy, the GM would not accept the initialed correction and made our driver fill the tank up. We were accused of changing the contract. We did not change the contract to save a few dollars on gas. Thank you for asking how you did

I understood that by filling in all the info (online) before pickup that the check in would be brief. It did not take very long but it should have been shorter. Renting a car at the airport is quick. Give them your name and they give you the keys. Pre check in should be shorter.

The staff at the Crenshaw/Los Angeles location provided excellent and professional service - I commend them. The staff at the Washington Boulevard/Culver City location provided excellent customer service, in spite of being impeded by the reservation Dept of U-Haul - I commend them for their professionalism in the face of incompetence. The displeasure and frustration that I experienced with U-Haul came from the slipshod & inadequate service that I received from the reservation department. I called and made arrangements to reserve a truck on 13/8 to be picked up the Washington Boulevard/Culver City location on 12/9. When I arrived at the scheduled time to pick up the vehicle, I was told that there was no truck reserved and that the reservation had been cancelled. No reason was given. The employees at the Culver City location were very helpful, but due to my reservation being cancelled - I had no vehicle available to me. I called and spoke w/the reservation department, initially I was told that they didn’t know why my reservation was cancelled, then I was told that it was cancelled because I didn’t arrive to pick up my vehicle on time; which wasn’t true - I arrived to pick-up the vehicle at the scheduled 9am pick-up time. Subsequently, I spent two & 1/2 hours calling, waiting and being redirected to another U-Haul location until I finally secured a truck at the Crenshaw location at 11:30 am. I needed a truck 24 hours, however, I was required to return that truck that I finally secured by 7pm. My entire day was compromised, I was unable to pick-up most of the items that I had scheduled to pick up and my carefully planned day was ruined. I had hired helpers who were only able to perform 1/3rd of the duties planned. My valuable time was squandered and over $130.00 was wasted on helpers who had very little work to perform. Had the reservation department done their job effectively, this travesty would not have occurred; my carefully planned day wouldn’t have been ruined, the helpers that I hired would have been able to perform their jobs, all of the items that I’d secured the 15 foot truck to pick up would have been picked-up, the vehicle would have been used efficiently and I would not have had one couch in a truck that was intended to have the contents of a two bedroom house inside. This experience was an exercise in futility and frustration - which could have been avoided if the reservation department individuals had done their jobs effectively.

I had a very bad experience; not with the staff, The truck that was given to me it had a lock on the back without not key. That frustrates me due to could not move out on the day I planned. Once I returned the tuck the manager provided with a lock cutter and could get the truck on the next day.

My original booking was for a trailer on Lincoln Ave in Santa Monica. Despite your guarantee that it would be there it was not. I was told to go to another location. They upgraded me to the next sized trailer which was way bigger than I needed. I ended up having to drive to the Crenshaw location which was a 10 plus mile drive in RUSH HOUR LA traffic. Brutal both ways. Totally unhappy. You all did NOT honor your $50 guarantee of right equipment at right location. You failed on both counts. The upgrade was at Uhaul’s convenience not mine. Not the staffs fault. They did a good job trying to take care of me. Tony was great but it still failed the guarantee. I expect a $50 refund from you

Friendly staff, very informative with the truck inspection walk-about. I signed up for Express Online Check-In, but still had to wait 20 minutes. I was early but it was okay. I would definitely rent from this location again.

The service was slow there was only one person had to wait 30 minutes she was by herself. And no it wasn't lunch time. When we got this truck it was on empty we however did make sure there was more than enough gas in it when we returned. If I rent again it will probably be at another location.

DO EVERYTHING ON LINE FIRST. Many of the other customers are walk ins sometimes, ARRANGE AND CHECK IN ONLINE BEFORE YOU GO TO THIS LOCATION. Staff is great, just expect many customers. :)
