Originally reserved a 5'x9' open trailer at U-Haul of Santa Monica, 1747 Lincoln Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90404. Got my reservation the day before pickup (Oct 21, 2017). When I arrived at 7:30 a.m. to check in, Tony (counter person) told me that they didn't have the equipment I reserved. So now I got all bent, and began to yell across the office over to Tony, asking him why my trailer isn't here when I have a reservation. Keep in mind that I had the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE with this location not a month ago!!! He told me to go to the U-Haul on Crenshaw Blvd, off the 10 Fwy, which is 12 miles away! I live in Santa Monica. Not Downtown L.A. I kept asking Tony to calm down and stop yelling at me. I told him that he'll have a heart attack. I calmed down, but he didn't. Anyway, this is the 2nd time Tony sent me over to the Crenshaw store in a little over a month. Traci Robert, the GM of the Crenshaw store is THE BOMB!!! She needs to be promoted to CEO U-Haul !!! As I said before, this is the 2nd time I've rented from Traci. She has been nothing less than extraordinary in service, understanding, charm, and dedication to her store, and the reputation of U-Haul, in general. For all the "wrongs" that I've experienced with U-Haul of Santa Monica, Traci made it right! While I was there, I asked Traci to reserve a 20 foot truck for me for Oct 28, 2017. She told me that her lot was too small to accommodate such a large truck, and the closest store that had the truck to her was the Hollywood store. I asked her to have the truck delivered to her location so I can pick it up from her. Hollywood is even further from my home than she is. She got on the horn to see what she could arrange, and I left her to it. I didn't hear from Traci all day, and I didn't call in to see if she was able to pull it off, but the following day I checked my email and lo and behold, there it was! An email reservation for my 20 footer to be picked up at U-Haul of Crenshaw, 2451 S Crenshaw Bl, Los Angeles, CA 90016. I recommend renting from Traci. The worst experience ever. My truck wasn't available. I was given another size and that I would be comped for mileage and given a dolly for my troubles. None of that happened and my deposit was not adjusted by far the worst uhaul experience EVER!

I love the service here. I use uhaul a few times a month. They are good people working at the Crenshaw location.



You need to get employees that go through the complete rental process with the customer. New employees are not being effective. This is the 2nd rental my gas was recorded wrong and I was charged a fuel charge even though the fuel was returned to the original placement. The manager is great, but the employees need much improvement. I miss the old crew from past years.

Upon renting the van was informed that there was no onsite parking for my car despite there being a large parking lot. I had to find street parking that was 2 blocks away and walk back to the rental location. This is an extremely inconvenient hassle for someone who already is having a busy/ stressful day moving. I was also told that I needed to "fold" the rented moving blankets to avoid the $25 cleaning fee. I would argue that "unfolded blankets" do not constitute a dirty truck and that refolding blankets should be reasonably included in the rental fee for the blankets. I absolutely will not be renting from this location again and will be using a less close but more customer friendly Penske location.

The uhaul rep. at the equipment return did not help at all to unload the auto transport system. It took me a long time to understand how to unload my car from the transport as I got help from the pick-up location and was not sure how to proceed.

U-Haul location is a bit sketch and there was not enough equipment available (utility carts were the only option). Otherwise, very friendly employees with good customer service. Great equipment, very positive experience overall.

If the pick up time is 4:45pm, and closing time is 5pm, employees should be more efficient with the check in process and their time in order to get customers in and out quickly, instead of taking a while and then being irritated that they're working past closing time.

Horrible customer service. I arrive to check in and employee tells me I registered for electronic check in (by mistake). I tell her I'd rather do it with her and she insists I do it on my phone. I proceed to link in my email and have trouble completing check in. I reiterate to employee I would rather have her check me and she responds that I need to download Chrome for link to work. I'm annoyed at this point because she has now refused me twice but download Chrome on my phone anyway. When I run into more issues checking in, I have to wait for employee who is chatting with someone who appears to be a friend and not a customer. I'm eventually helped by this employee. I make sure to inform her this is why I wanted her help in the first place as opposed to dealing with it through a machine. She could have saved me so much time and headache.



The Customer Service was superb! Staff was so friendly and considerate to all the customers even though they were very busy and experiencing computer problems.

The customer service at this location is great. The girls and the manager were very sweet and helpful. I happened to go in on the 1st so it was CRAZY in there. The lot is tiny and the location is in a very awkward place which makes it tough to get in and out of. All of the employees working were on it that day and getting stuff done.



This place provided the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will never return to do business there again, and I will be sure to recommend other people to stay away as well.

Waited 45 minutes in the store, and this was after I pre-checked in online that supposedly "saves half of your wait time". Poor customer service upon return. Would not recommend this Uhaul location. Try somewhere else...Good luck though, because this is the only location that has what you rent. Moving on to Budget. Thanks anyway.

I found the staff to be incredibly rude, unhelpful, and unresponsive. They seemed to hate their jobs and had no interest in making my experience positive. There's a young latino guy there who literally wouldn't even acknowledge me. Two different times I said "Excuse me, can you help me out" and both times he behaved as if I was invisible and completely ignored me. I'm a bright, accomplished guy in my 40's. I know how a business is supposed to work and have reasonable expectations. Literally couldn't believe my eyes. Even though there was only one person ahead of me who had no idea what he wanted and had no reservation and was just sucking up a crazy amount of time while people were waiting, the other African American girl who worked there let me wait nearly half an hour before suggesting that I check myself in on my phone and then was totally reluctant to help me through the process and acted as though she was doing me a giant favor by doing any part of her job. I have never felt less welcome at any business. This place is a poorly managed disaster. The truck was fine but very old and all bashed up. The employees have horrible attitudes and are unprofessional. I cannot imagine coming back. This place clearly doesn't care about repeat business. Nor will they get any...

The woman who checked me in was AMAZING. She was nice, very professional, was able to multi task, managed multiple customers at once, all in a stifling hot room. Kudos to her! I would also to thank the man who helped me set up my auto tow. I really appreciate him taking the time to walk me through EVERTHING! I know he sensed my nervousness being that this was my first time towing anything (let alone cross country), and I am so grateful for his patience and thoroughness.
