The gentleman (Roger) at the site we picked up the U Haul from was extremely rude. The place was disgusting with about 20 feral cats outside and it smelled like cat feces. We had to hook up the trailer to the back of the U Haul ourselves. I would think that U Haul would be concerned about the safety of its customers and liability issues. The trailer should have been connected to the back of the truck by the U Haul employee. When we returned the U Haul truck at our destination we were informed we had damaged the truck and owed over $250 for damages. Luckily I had taken pictures of the truck when we were hooking up the trailer upon pickup and it was clearly visible in the picture’s I had taken that there was a hole in the top of the U Haul truck. It rained during our drive and there was water damage to our belongings from the hole in the truck that we weren’t aware of. Not a good experience from the time we picked the truck and trailer up or when we dropped them off. Still haven’t received an answer about the additional charges we are disputing.
