Since there is only one person handling the rentals it takes longer to go through the process of renting and/returning. Overall, the 26’ rental had a check engine light on as well as the battery indicator on. The rear of the truck was clean, however even the truck door pocket on driver side was dirty.

At the time I had reserved (2:00 pm on a Thursday), apparently there was only one person at the rental desk. So he had to handle, in the order they arrived, people buying supplies, people returning rentals, and people picking up rentals. I think this guy, while quite efficient and friendly, could have used a little help.

When I originally put tow vehicles on reserve, one truck and one van, I noticed later that he put two of the same trucks on reserve instead. didn't make much difference as I didn't need the van, but he read back the two vehicles that I wanted correctly but then entered the info wrong. Also, I told the guys that I wanted to return the vehicle to Eau Claire and they wrote Chippewa Falls.

I ordered a large truck to deliver Christmas presents to needy vets as one family had asked for multiple bicycles. The guys on Verona road were super helpful, friendly and tried a number of ways to get me the best price (as it comes out of my pocket). They didn't have a truck so I had to go to the west side Sunday for pickup. For some reason the guy had to re-input everything but when he couldn't figure out hat the first guys did, he simply discounted something to get to the same total. Super helpful. He said if I didn't use the 525 miles or got done early things would be prorated and taken off when I returned the truck. I delivered over 1/2 the presents Sunday night and thought a smaller truck would be cheaper. I asked for a cargo van and he wrote that up and I asked for a receipt for the big truck and he said, "You have it, it's here $235." I told him I used the truck 1/2 the original quoted time and just over half the original mileage but the guy Monday would only credit me $50 of the $235. he said I had over 500 miles and I told him to subtract again and he realized it was 350 out of the original 525 or 2/3. He stood there bitching about how many trucks UPS stuck him with and I said, I don't care but the refund isn't right. He handed me the new contract and grabbed keys, walked out brought the truck around and walked away. In general I would gladly with the Verona road guys any day or the older gent that worked Sunday morning but if this is the way U Haul as a company does business, we'll go back to Enterprise.

Ann was great. But the Male I spoke with was polite but canceled the wrong reservation. Just need to double check. Never hurts. He did not ask me for a reservation number.

I was disappointed that I got charged for cleaning the uhaul. The only thing I had in it was boxes and totes and one dresser. It was loaded from one garage to another garage that were both immaculate. I dont know what would have needed sweeping. There was nothing in it to sweep.

Not much that wouldn't involve having another employee there and going over the payroll budget. It took a while to get help, but the patience exhibited was great, all questions were answered, and everything worked out great!

Some of U-haul's company policies do not make sense. First, if asked to give the name and phone number of a second contact person, the reason given me was because of possible theft - would any thief give an honest answer to that question? Second, telling the customer that they must pay for any damage to the vehicle upon return to the store if insurance isn't purchased is based on What? the 'guesstimate' of whomever is working at the time? My only real complaint is that when I picked up the truck the gas gauge showed the tank to be full. I drove exactly 12 miles in a cargo van and the needle moved to below full. At the gas pump more than 2 gallons were pumped into the tank before I stopped - realizing that I was adding additional fuel that I hadn't used. Is it the practice of the stores to just make the needle hit the Full mark and trick the customers into adding more gasoline than they used? It isn't a stretch to imagine this could be a sleazy practice.

I was in a hurry, which is my fault. I wanted the $14.95 trailer, and filled the paperwork out quickly. I was not aware that the agent included the $8 safe tow coverage. I only had to move the trailer about 15 miles total, and wanted to keep the cost to an absolute minimum. I was disappointed to get a $24.21 bill. Had the agent informed (or asked) about the coverage, I would have given a 5 star rating.
