Two out of the three people working there had no idea what they were doing. I was almost charged double for the I was actually supposed to pay in the end due to their mistake. If I didn't catch it, I would've been cheated out of 60$. I have a half a mind to this it was purposeful so they could pocket the money. I would not recommend this location.

When i received the truck, it only had 3/8ths a tank of gas so it was nearly impossible for me to not go under then 1/4ths line that causes a $30 fee. I have never rented a car or truck in my life that provided a customer with a vehicle with anything under 1/2 a tank left of gas. I'm very frustrated and don't feel like I should have had to pay the fine. It's really hard to find a gas station in Manhattan.

Getting out of Manhattan island proved to be a challenge, since some passageways North are for passenger cars only. Information on what major drives are truck-prohibited could have been helpful.

I rent a truck from this location every Sunday and the guys here are fantastic. Kirk, Caseem, Ronnie, Anthony and the whole crew at the Chelsea location in NYC are rockstars. I feel taken care of every time I come in to get a truck. Very thankful for everyone here in what is otherwise an often thankless job. Keep up the good work.

Rep was pleasant and knowledgeable but so rapidly rattled her spiel by rote that I didn't catch it all. The battery of my vehicle died and I waited just under an hour for service. Otherwise,a good experience. The vehicle handled well.

The driver's side seat belt did not function properly. After getting to my brother's apartment and loading the truck, the seat belt completely stopped working. I contacted this U-Haul location, who said they would amend the contract. They asked if I could return the vehicle, but the moving window was too tight and I would have to drive past the new apartment to get back to the U-Haul drop off. When I returned the truck, the contract had not been amended. The employees seemed to think I was unreasonable for expecting a truck with working safety features, so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager did not meet with me, and instead had the cashier offer me $20 off. I accepted with the understanding that it was a take-it-or-leave-it situation. I took a picture of the truck's Warning sticker on the visor, which states, "DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur... ALWAYS use SEAT BELTS and CHILD RESTRAINTS." Not only did I feel extremely unsafe in the vehicle, but I was also put in a position where I could have received a citation for not wearing a seat belt. I am extremely disappointed in my experience.

Upon return the friendly guy reviewed van(allcleaned out) and he checked the mileage (drive 8 miles). Wanted to charge me additional$14 for a gallon of gas despite my showing photo of fuel indicator, receipt of purchased gas So I drove 8 miles. Something was off with this fuel gauge

Sean McGowan at the Chelsea front desk was awesome! Easily the best experience I've had at a uhaul front desk. It was unexpectedly pouring and he helped wrap my boxes that I bought at the store with plastic wrap so they wouldn't get wet plus was just generally very friendly

I was involved in a accident, and the process is not clear to me at all. right now, I have no idea if this accident has been resolved yet.

I normally do not give negative reviews, however, hope this helps improve their customer services and communication. We booked a truck to do a move at 3.30am. We called 4 times to make sure that they confirmed the 2 utility trolleys. However, when we picked up the truck at 3.30am, there were no dollies, BUT I had been charged for them. I called customer services, and the woman was not nice. She kept saying it is not her fault and she is in Arizona and we need to talk to the store, who did not open for another 4 hours. When we returned the truck, the store manager mentioned that they don't rent dollies out of office and this is the fault of customer services and they know this. It took as twice as long to move, and the rude customer services people that put blame on each other. In the end, I lost out, was charged and nothing was resolved. I would question using U haul again due to this experience.

The van was badly damaged upon pickup. Yes, it was functional, and I'm not rolling up to the club in my uhaul, but this thing actually had panels missing and looked like it had just been used in a Michael Bay movie. Advice: prioritize the vans in good condition.

driver's window handle know was missing so rolling down window to adjust mirror was practically impossible. Also gas was recorded as higher than delivered which I immediately reported. They told me to take a picture with the mileage and indeed they took note of it upon returning the car.
