JAMES SI rejected the optional $15 coverage and I still got charged for it
ARNULFO HThe so called manager at the location told my husband she “saw what he was trying to do” when he was asking why there was going to be an additional $200+ charges to the already +$270 we had paid. My card was used for the reservation and then at pick up the entire account was changed to my name. When she couldn’t give answers to what was going on she said it was for mileage and he said the math didn’t make sense. She said we could just deal with U-Haul and then when he walked out tried to charge his card without him being present. My card which should have been taken off as my name was no longer even part of the account as it was all switched to him because she said it would be easier that way was then charged without MY knowledge OR consent. We paid for Additional days as we went and were told that they had someone lined up to rent after us so we needed to have it back by Saturday afternoon and then found that our contract that was not discussed with us had been changed to a 1 week contract with 750 included miles etc. Seems like we should have been part of the discussion before a contract that SHOULD BE SIGNED by the agreeing party is changed and a card that was used for reservation under one name should not have been held and used without discussion and contact considering the U-Haul account is not in my name. The card used for the initial payment and for the additional days belongs to my husband and is in his name. The card that was fraudulently used without my consent on an account that my name is on anymore that had no part of payment is only in my name. To be told by this manager that she sees what he is doing and that she’s the manager so there’s no one else for him to talk to is WILD. She doesn’t belong in a customer service, customer facing job if she can’t do something as basic as explain the charges of an account.
