When k booked my uhaul, I chose a location that was less than a mile from home so I could walk bc I wouldn’t have a ride to pick it up. The day before my reservation, Uhaul called and said my original location was unavailable so to choose between 2 others. I chose 2341 W Roosevelt, Chicago, IL because it was closer of the two. Kn the day of my reservation, I went to the 2341 W Roosevelt in Chicago, IL. which was an absolutely terrible experience. When I arrived, I was told the truck was not there, wasn’t going to be there, and call customer service. The man went back into his locked business and left me outside in the cold. I called customer service from the side of the road. Eventually after being on hold for 25 mins, a representative got on the phone was helpful but the only other location that had the truck I was guaranteed was 4501 W North Ave, Melrose Park. Although the 4501 location was very nice and efficient, it was an hour away from my confirmed pickup location. Uhaul has a “guarantee” yet nothing about this was guaranteed. I was told “everyone is leaving Chicago and there are no trucks.” A reservation is deemed absolutely useless if the business doesn’t plan to follow through. 2341 W Roosevelt should not be allowed to be a contract location after the awful experience I had.

Monique TOverall your services were acceptable. However, you guys changed pick up spot last second by email. As i was traveling to do this move i do not check emails as quickly as usual. went to wrong place. then new place (25 minutes away) i could not access remote lock box even using your telephone help. luckily lady at site was especially helpful and got me into truck. cab, not back, was loaded with equipment. also, did not know truck was 20 miles to empty until i got on highway.
