I had a good overall experience with U-Haul, and the customer service was great. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the rental process. However, I was disappointed with the fuel charge. When I picked up the truck, the mileage was **37,835 miles** and the fuel level was a little less than **1/8 of a tank**. When I returned the truck, the mileage was **37,859 miles**, and the fuel level was still at approximately **1/8 of a tank**. Despite returning the truck with essentially the same amount of fuel, I was charged **$11 for 2 gallons of gas**. I understand that fuel charges may apply when a vehicle is returned with less fuel than when it was picked up, but in this case, the fuel level appeared to be the same. I would recommend that U-Haul be more careful about documenting and verifying fuel levels at pickup and return to avoid customers being charged unnecessarily. Overall, the customer service was good, but I was not satisfied with the fuel charge.

Paul GThe tank had 1/4 tank of gas and not 3/8 as stated on rental agreement. This was corrected by a comment written on the paper by the rental person, although I was told it could be a possible charge to me at return. Also, there was damage to the driver side of the truck, which I fortunately took a Pic of before I moved the truck from the lot. When I returned the truck, I showed the UHaul employee and he said that should have been marked and noted by the renter. If I did not have pictures, I would have been charged. Also found a cigarette butt under the seat and when I flipped down the center seat to use the console/cup holders, it was covered in brown sticky residue like a soda or something was spilled and never cleaned. After this experience, it is unlikely that I would rent from U Haul again.
