I should not have been given then truck and trailer I was given for a 3000 + mile drive ! There was lots of issues with the truck and trailer! Just a couple things like no wiper blade , check engine light was on , back of truck had used car parts or something that the floor was covered in oil and very very strong smell of fuel , so much oil that it was coming out the back gate and even the bumper was covered in oil. My sister slipped and fell is how I noticed all the oil in back so I had to mop it out with degreaser but it didn’t get the smell out so now my apartment and all my stuff smells like fuel! The drive itself was very scary and unsafe ! The running lights on trailer didn’t work so I had to drive half of the drive with the hazards on so other vehicles and 18 wheelers could see the trailer. There was a hole in catalytic converter or something directly underneath the cap and was extremely loud the whole drive. Again that’s just some of the issues, I will be writing up something and sending that and pictures to corporate. When I would call all I would be offered was a free month of storage that I was already given when I first rented the equipment , but after all the issues I told myself I will never spend a dime with U-Haul again. This will be a small part of what I’m going to do about this , I will be sure to make it well known on how u haul treats their customers.

I was told my the booking dept that a rep at U-Haul had to connect the trailer to the vehicle for liability reasons. That was not the case when I got there. I was also told that someone would be anle to help me when I returned it - which was not the case. A customer in the line overhead the situation and went out and got her son in law to help with the trailer. Don’t promise things to customers and then let them be stuck when they get there. The person that did my return literally said to me- “I guess you are going to be leaving here with a trailer attached to your car” I can’t help you.

Diane SHad problems using the app to check in/pick up truck. On phone over an hour with representative and she had no idea how to fix issue. I resolved issue finally and she walked me through process but never mentioned mileage and I was charged an outrageous fee. I don’t think that is fair when I know that my travels were well over 40 miles so why would I select that. I never had an opportunity to complete and representative kept saying glitch in system. I feel I need to be reimbursed.
