Every time I use uhaul, I have a bad experience. I made my reservation at a location close to me for 10am for a 15' truck. I received a confirmation call that everything was in place and ready to go for what I reserved. Later that same day I got a call from someone else stating that uhaul overbooked and I was moved to a different location and couldn't pick it up until 2:30 pm. This was the day before my move and I had secured help in the morning, not the afternoon so that wasn't going to work for me. You can imagine how irritated (putting it mildly) I was considering I made the reservation 12 days before my move and no one called me until the day before to say they overbooked that time. I was told on the phone that I would get a $50 credit for all of the inconveniences but when we returned the truck, the associate argued and didn't give it to us. This whole experience made me realize how much I hate using uhaul and I never will again.

You must be aware that One of the primary concerns your customers have is being able to pick-up rental equipment at a location that is preferable to their situation. Your current online reservation system asks a customer to select a preferred location. If that location does not have the equipment you fulfill the customer's request for a given piece of equipment yet YOU DO NOT INFORM THE CUSTOMER IN BIG, RED TYPE (Which should be a common courtesy) it is available but NOT AT the one they original selected. This leads to a lot of confusion because customers make an assumption and they literally need to be beaten over the head with the fact their expectations have not been met. Moving is a stressful time (On par with getting divorced) and when they go to fulfill their order they're told your equipment is at such and such a location. The u Haul reps on 20 the street informed me this was a common occurrence and u haul is trying to address the fuster cluck it creates between renter and agent. The solution is easy - have the system generate a BIG, BRIGHT AND BOLD BANNER informing the customer of the change over their preferred pick-up location. Spell out to the customer u haul's commitment to meeting their needs, blah-blah and so on, explain the situation. The alternative currently in practice is customers check on a box in the rental process, make a assumption and make a mental note my desire will be fulfilled as initially specified and you create a situation ripe for disaster. I was a independent U Haul dealer for 10 years. I know customer's don't like hearing that and will back out on a rental. It is obvious to me your approach is to not highlight the location change for fear of losing the rental. Because of the time constraint you've got the customer over a barrel and they case the equipment. My reservation, both online and in the e-mail I received didn't even list an address for the pick-up location. When I arrived at the location I assumed was the one I designated for pick-up the rep was rude and short with me, didn't bother to let me know the website layout often confuses customers. If, like the rep at 20th, she put the onus on the website AND uHaul is attempting to address it - even if you don't do a thing the customer is left with the impression the blame for the misunderstanding is shared by both Uhaul and not solely the the result of a customer's impatience with going through what to most is a burdensome process. To have a rep be short with them when they are informed of the situation is asinine, and in my case the rep told me it was too early in the morning to answer questions to better define my options. When I pressed the issue, asking her (The store manager in West Allis) what the time of day had to do with answering questions that would help a customer make an informed decision to in the end lead to business being transacted, she asked me to leave the store. Again I informed her that her attitude was unacceptable and

I could have used a dolly. Didn't even think of it. I was going to go back to U-Haul to ask if I could get one but then some neighbors came by and lent a hand. Maybe you should suggest that. Some of us don't event think until it hits us square between the eyes. It was really easy returning the rental.

This is the second time in a month I've rented the auto trailer. It is so old and rusted your company should be embarrassed to rent it. The employee assisting with the rental agreed, but stated it is only used for local moves due to it's condition. Disappointing that you'd take this position.

WheniWhen I got the uhaul the lock on the back from the truck was not working, at first I was told two times that I would have to buy a lock ..when the lock was already broke when I rented the truck....the rest of the services were fine.....i just can't believe I was even ask to pay for a new lock that I didn't break..

While some employees are a bit slow and others mean, the one person that did excellent service was Jason. Without Jason I was going to skip services next time I moved. Jason was quick, fast, helpful, outstanding when he even came out to check me out with his mobi and extremely kind. Especially when moving took a bit longer and we needed the uhaul for a bit longer. Previously I was told no.....even though I technically paid everything for a day; Jason allowed us to have it for three hours which graciously helped out a lot!

Under the supervision of Vince, who said he was a corporate owner, the technician who brought the truck never filled out the check out form therefore we noticed 5 minutes after leaving the mileage and the fuel were wrong from what was on the contract. tried to contact Vince several times even called 1 800 customer service number and they left messages he never returned one single call during the whole entire Rental process. Felt very neglected and as if the service was very poor after I had talked to him and took pictures of the dashboard with the vehicle running to verify mileage and fuel amount on the contract was wrong Vince's simple reply was for me to drive way back across town in another vehicle and show him the pictures in the phone which was very inconvenient we were never given the opportunity to email or text the photos fortunately Patrice at the Appleton store straighten the whole mess out and still have yet not received a simple return call from Vince... what a poor example of management

The trailer that I rented was very old (manufacture date was 1981) with lots of "X" stickers over dozens of dents. I was uncomfortable renting it, but it was the only trailer left.
