Non helpful staff, very slow service! Staff member who served me smelled of alcohol! After 25 yrs of using Uhaul never again! Trailer was not properly attached to truck by staff! When I tried to return trailer the staff wanted me to go to a different location and were not quick to return my cash deposit!!!

My only issue is the fact that the wipers should be checked for suitability. I was stuck in the worst weather this year and the wipers did not do their job efficiently. Of all the areas that should be tested on a seasonal basis, this is one that should be. Summer wipers do need replacing and are not effective in winter conditions. My experience was like looking through a fish bowl. Frequent manual cleaning was necessary and when you are driving on the highway for most of the trip, this is very inconvenient.

The lady and the young man who I dealt with when I returned the truck were fantastic. The gentlemen at the desk was pleasant enough but did not have the same “make the customer feel great” approach. Fortunately the last person I talked to was the lady in the return station and she made it a fantastic experience. I’ve been a customer of Uhaul for a very long time and I think the price point and the service is the best in the business. My only advise is to encourage all your people to make the customer smile when ever they have the opportunity.

Total scam - they charged us for insurance that we declined. the receipt was e-mailed so we didn't see it until later, we I called to ask that it be removed they told us there was nothing they could do as we had already left. Mileage was wrong. Got charged $45.00 for mileage. Total bill was over 90.00 - identical trip was only $28.00 a few days ago. They put it all on us - don't they ever check the vehicles?????????

Check in was a little slow, considering that I input all my information on line when I made the reservation. It appeared to be related to be a staff training issue. Having said that, the staff were friendly and courteous.

I reserved a one way U-Haul and was provided a confirmation by phone and email to pick it up at a particular location. On the day of the move I arrived at this location to pick up my U-Haul and it was CLOSED. I then called U-Haul and explained to them the situation and customer service again sends me to another location to pick up a truck where they said would be available for my reservation. I show up at this location and they tell me that they do not have a truck available for my one way reservation and they were overbooked. The worker there manages to allow me to take a 20’ truck instead but I would have to return it back to the same location rather than the one way location I originally reserved. I agreed and took the truck. The following day I was called by the location I was supposed to drop off the truck per my original one way reservation. They said that they were expecting me to drop the truck off there. I explained to them what happened to my reservation the night before and they told me to call the U-Haul head office to clear things up so that I don’t drop the truck off at the wrong location. I then call the U-Haul head office and explained the story. The person I spoke to confirmed that I was to indeed drop the truck at the original one way location rather than return it back to the pick up location. This was also stated on the contract. After I dropped the truck off, I received a called from the pick up location asking if I would be back soon to return the truck. I explained to the person what transpired during the day and that U-Haul head office confirmed with me that I was to drop the truck off at the original one way location. The U-Haul representative then proceeded to become disrespectful and started threatening me with charges to my card and that I will need to pick the truck up the next morning and bring it to their location right away. I told him that it would not be possible and that I believe the truck would not be released back to me after the contract had already been fulfilled. He continued to be disrespectful and continued his threats and proceeded to tell me that I better do it or I will be charged and he hung up on me. I expect this matter to be escalated and addressed with no additional charges put towards me and disciplinary action with this person who contacted me, threatened me, and hung up.

The fuel in the contract said I must return the truck at 1/4 fuel so I thought that was how much fuel was in the tank. After only 5 minutes on the road the refuel indicator came on and when I looked at the fuel gauge it was at 1/16. I trusted what the employee had me sign. I wasn’t impressed by this new knowledge that I had to find a gas station right now, when I thought I had enough fuel to get to the place where I was staying. My improvement on service would be to put down what the exact reading is on the fuel gauge.

My day didn't start well because the pick up was to be at another location. The agent (not at Royal Windsor) at the national level didn't co-ordinate the pick up location. After many calls and 15 Km out of my way instead of 1Km I received my truck. I lost 2 of my helpers in the mean time and didn't start until 10:30 loading instead of 8:30. I did receive a discount on the mile (Km) rate from the regional office. My advice to everyone...the company is good but make sure you have the right pick up location and arrangements. They make mistakes too.
