ALFONSO CI don't rent from Uhaul very often, but I have had two frustrating experiences (out of three[?] rentals). The first experience involved the rental of a 5'x8' cargo trailer. At the Middletown, NY location. I reserved (and confirmed) one several weeks in advance. When I showed up, they did not have what I reserved available. They had no small cargo trailers available, in fact. I was moving my daughter 10 hours away the next day, so had to settle for what they had. I tried a 6'x12' cargo trailer, but it was going to be too big for the long drive, so ended up using a 5'x8' utility trailer. I was thankful that it didn't rain over the next couple of days. My second experience involved a rental of a 15' truck. I reserved the truck two weeks in in advance, confirmed the reservation, and showed up at my local facility (Rock Hill Service Station) to find that it had been rented out from under me. They couldn't explain why a confirmed rental was rented to someone else. I was moving my son from one apartment to another in NYC the next day, so had to scramble to find a truck that would work. I did find one in the next town over, but had to wait for a ride from one facility to another, as I was dropped off (I was picking up a truck after all). AS hard as the person was working to make something happen, I finally got on the phone to find that truck. As it turns out, the "best" that UHaul could do was a $50.00 credit on my rental. That didn't even pay for the gas I used! All the people I spoke to were certainly nice and "helpful," but there was no explanation for why this has happened twice and no real attempt to compensate me, the customer, for the stress caused by what happened. I think the authorized dealers need to be held responsible, as they are the ones that rented a confirmed rental to someone else. I am still waiting for a call back or email from the second "inconvenience," but have not heard back, except to confirm the whole $50.00 credit. I hope that 50 bucks doesn't force UHaul to declare bankruptcy.

TANEKA SClean the trucks. They were disgusting and nasty. Old dried food, black dirt and grease. Door lock on pass. nger side did not lock or open the door only from the inside. area where trucks are parked looks like a battlezone and is half under water and giant mud puddles like small lakes. the store is just as nasty with undesireable people in and out of the store.
