Area where rentals are pickup up is a bit tight on space and was very muddy the day we were there. Everything else was good, including the unit being ready on time, which is important.

I tried to use the 24/7 website to pickup my rental when the location wasn't open. Upon arrival, I went through the steps to verify myself. During those steps I was not granted the rental online due to the photo of the back of my license not being satisfactory, even after I took it 4 different times. Also, my emergency contact didn't pickup the phone immedatlety when Uhaul tried to call, and then Uhaul wouldn't accept that same name/number as a backup contact. I was not aware at the time of my reservation that I would need to be providing a backup person, and I hadn't notified my backup contact to watch for a call. Also, I feel that the pictures of the license were something that can be done and verified ahead of time, instead of waiting until the last minute.

The only reason that I gave it four stars was because of the customer service attitude of the man at the store. He was abrupt and lacked personable skills. If given the choice of another location, I would go to the other location if the individual I was renting from was nicer.

The truck had nails, change, and dirt all over the floor matt. I have never gotten a truck that was clean from any of the 10 locations I have tried. If you can clean the truck, especially of nails, you will get 5 stars.

When I got there, door was locked and a note was posted on the door saying that if anyone needed help, call the number on the note(919-914-1962). When I was dropping off the van, the door was locked and he was absent again. I called the number three different times to ask where I should park the van but no one answered all three times. After about 5 minutes, he started sending me text messages to tell me where to park the van and where to drop off the keys. This is probably one of the worst customer services experience I've ever had.

The employee that initially checked me in and gave me the keys to the truck was the same employee that accepted the keys when I returned the keys and truck. He seemed upset when I told him where I parked the truck(in front of the building near where I picked it up) and said I should have parked it in a different location. I would have been glad to have parked it in that other location if he had taken the time to tell me where to park it on return when I initially picked the truck up.

I have one concern is that right now North Carolina is facing a huge storm Hurricane Florence and there is no Gas or water. Most Gas station were out of Gas as people where preparing for the storm. So we couldn't refill gas from anywhere. I would recommend to make it a company policy to waive off the penalty fee for the Gas refill. I will not say dont charge but charge us a normal rate instead of taking advantage of us at time of crisis
