I was disappointed to find that the van itself was not parked at the store, but a few blocks away.

Nothing was explained to me when I picked up the van, I got no paperwork and when I returned the van it took me 30 min to check out, which I was then charged $250 additional for the late truck check in. My original bill was under $100. This is robbery!!!!! I will never use U-Haul again and will make sure everyone I do business with is aware of how awful this experience has been. Apparently technology is a good excuse to fuck people over.

Rented a van and it was a gong show getting my reservation right from the start, then I got a harassing phone call from the guy who rented to me telling me that I had to drop the van off 6 hours early!! So hereâ€™s the worst part, after not even getting any paperwork or Doing any vehicle inspection when I left the shop, this asshole dings me with $1300 Bill for damage that I never did! He was very unprofessional just took my info tossed me a dolly and pads and the key and away I went! I wouldnâ€™t ever go back to this location or recommend anyone to go! What was supposed to be a 2 to 3 hundred dollar rent is now at 1300 for some crooked shop owners incompetents!

1) would be helpful to know about parking in advance - for example that we could park our vehicle in the uhaul truck spot. The right side (passenger) mirror was loose and kept moving. Would have also been more convenient to have more than 1/4 tank of gas to begin. Otherwise, everything was super smooth and convenient!

I rarely right reviews, but feel it was important to share my experience. In addition to the very poor service I received from the business the vehicle was parked at, I have never had such a terrible experience using a companies website and app. After 4 calls to customer service and 45 minutes of time after I arrived, I was finally able to get the keys. Here are a few notes - by no means does this cover everything, but these are the highlights. At one point, a customer service person told me I shouldnâ€™t be using the app (what?!). If the app is that bad, you shouldnâ€™t have one. When entering my date of birth and drivers license expiration dates, the format shown was dd/mm/yyyy. I received multiple messages saying they were incorrect, so I called customer service again. The guy I spoke with (James?) immediately said â€œuse dashesâ€. I thought this was weird based on the format shown in the example above, but he was very confident this was the issue. Unfortunately this didnâ€™t work, but eventually I tried another format change (mm-dd-yyyy) and it worked. James was very helpful, and probably the only half decent experience I had this morning, but I felt terrible for him because the tools UHaul was providing him werenâ€™t even accurate. Lastly, when my identity was being confirmed, the screen said â€œplease waitâ€. There was a note telling me I could type to chat with someone, but I decided to give it some time for them to approve me. 10 minutes in nothing had happened, so I typed a quick message just asking for an ETA so I could tell my destination when I would be arriving. 10 minutes later there was still no response or approval, so I called customer service again. While I was on the phone the approval finally went through. I rarely complain about service, but I can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences Iâ€™ve had. I felt terrible for your staff, and the people at the pick up location offered no help whatsoever. I hope these notes help you find opportunities for improvement. I can assure you U-Haul will no longer be a company I use or recommend.

I had ordered a half dozen furniture blankets with the van and when I went to pick up the van I was told that the blankets were not available. This was extremely frustrating as I ordered the blankets in advance to protect my furniture but I had to do without them during my move.

The business with the info on the Cel phone does not deliver . The owner in the store did everything on his lap top . Just give him the keys & be done with it !!

The people working there are very nice and the van was clean and in good shape. Unfortunately, the van was not available for the time we had rented it. We got it nearly an hour late. By the time we got where we were going, loaded the van, and got to the recycle depot the depot was closed. We missed it by 10 minutes. I have now had to arrange for the city to pick-up the items at an additional cost.

This is to give you an update on the disputed charges from Uhaul. After receiving the statement, I drove back to the pick up store to see what the reasons for the charges has been. We arrived there 1:00 pm and had to wait for ten minutes because the store attendants needed to call someone else to show up. The guy who came was not the same person who rented the car to us and accepted he is not the manager or business owner. He claimed the manager is not available. Below I am summarizing what happened there: 1) your agent claimed the car has been towed away because we parked it at wrong spot. FYI, the store has security camera and when we returned the truck, the store attendant checked the parking spot and confirmed. The truck was still parked at in the back alley adjacent to where we parked. 2) we checked the odometer, it was not changed from the time we dropped the car which meant the truck was not driven since then. Gasoline level was also the same level so no refueling had happened. A brief clarification as these trucks take a while after ignition to accurately show the gas level and it was on the same 1/4 tank as we received it. 3) The attitude of the guy was terrible. Did not let us talk and pointing his finger towards us. I believe your agent is running a shady business totally apart from Uhaul values. Lastly, I would like to get a refund and an apology from one of Uhaul managers not to escalate the incident further more and I want Uhaul to take appropriate prevention measures to make sure no other customer has to go through a similar experience. I would like to continue business with Uhaul but this incident was far away from a fare one.

There are two stores side-by-side. Weeks ago I made reservations for a 10' truck and my confirmation stated a pickup at My Uptown Party. I showed up at My Uptown Party (according my to reservation) at 10:00 am and they advised that the 10' truck was broken. They didn't seem to alarmed, even though we were! We had to prompt them to call uhaul to see what could be done. In the meantime they offered us a van, which was a completely unacceptable option. The man that we dealth with at this location was rude. First, by insisting that the reservation was with Golden Coins, even though I showed him my reservation that showed My Uptown Party. He is also the same person I spoke to on Saturday when I called ahead of our reservation just to confirm everything was good for our Monday reservation. Before I could finish my sentence, he interrupted and curtly said "if you have an email confirmation, then you have a reservation". Had he let me finish my question he would have been alerted to the fact that I was enquiring about a truck that was broken. Second, our concern about the fact that the truck we had reserved weeks earlier was met with a shoulder shrug. We are still confused about why arrangements weren't made to have a working vehicle waiting for us when both clerks told us that their 10' truck had been out of commission for some time. Why were we not called in advance? Uhaul sent us another truck, but it put us behind by half an hour. We had 4 movers waiting for us on the other end. I get it that unforseen things happen, but there was nothing unforeseen about this. Our reservations were on the books for weeks, and the truck was broken for days. We rented a truck through Uhaul using the Arnie's Market pick up location in New Westminster in August last year. That experience was completely different. The staff was polite and helpful. The move went off without a hitch. I would like a response to explain why this last experience was so negative.

I went to one store where the lady kept helping other people over myself (waited 30 mins) then she sent me next door where the guy was better there. He didn't go over the rental with me just sent me on my way, so I looked at the gas gauge myself and put more gas then required in and I was charged $25 when I got my invoice the next day.

Very disorganized service at location with limited knowledge of system requirements and also poor communication skills by personnel to create a smooth payment transaction. There was a sexist joke made by the male uhaul contact employee that created an uncomfortable atmosphere and upon returning rental truck there was extremely limited space to park as contact employee put their personal vehicle in designated parking spot. The rental truck itself had a check engine light which caused unnecessary anxiety as there was indicated to be no particular mechanical reason for it. Disappointed as we would have preferred a pick up truck or van, and there was a van unrented in the visible vicinity of dispatch.
