Be more mindful of data entry & checking information. I thought I made a reservation for a 5 x 8' trailer, yet received a confirmation email for a rental van. Later, my paperwork for the rental was made out for my vehicle being a Jeep Grand Cherokee (which was replaced in 2010 by my current Hyundai Sante Fe). In the last two years, I had a hitch put on the Sante Fe and rented trailors from this same location.

The general manager Doug was very busy but took the time to help with my emergency. He called "traffic" to see how to handle and they told they it should be an emergency drop off, he tried to call Toms River location and tell them to code it like that and they hung the phone up on him twice. After a half hour he told me he had to charge me more and that I should call the corporate office to seek reimbursement. I will be doing that today if I don't hear from someone. Doug was excellent.

I called to ask about the return of the vehicle after seeing online that I needed to create an online profile, and the guy on the phone said that I did not need to do that and only that I needed to enter the contract number, which was wrong so I was frustrated when I was trying to return the vehicle online, and the guy was just closing the door and wouldn't help me check in and made me do it through the online portal (taking pictures etc.), which was fine at the end of the day, I just was frustrated with the customer service.

I was quoted online 19.95 per day, 32 cents per mile which came up to roughly 89.00. When I went to pick up it would not accept my email address which is the one I have received all of my emails from uhaul. I therefore had to work with the person at the location who then quoted me a lot different and ended up being 116.00 extremely disappointed

I dropped off the truck @ 11:45 AM, the gentleman working on a woman's roof rack took my paperwork, said I was all set, I would get a receipt by email. Truck didn't officially get checked in until 2:26 PM, I got charged an extra day. I called, got it sorted out, extra day charge was reversed. Then the extra-day charge was charged a second time, and I have made numerous calls to customer service to get it straightened out. On my most recent call I was told to make my claim online. Here it is. I will also call the local dealer again to see if that helps.

My experience was very good!! The staff was very helpful & the equipment worked perfectly, especially the lights!! In the past, we rented a 5 by 8 trailer for a trip & had lots of trouble with the wiring. Had to locate a Uhaul & get them to fix it on the trip. Had no problem at all this time. Everything worked perfectly! Renting the trailer was fast & easy & the return was the also fast & easy! Good experience!! Very pleased!!

Would not pick up telephone, when clerk was asked what the fee would be if we returned the truck more than 2 hours late, he responded with a shoulder shrug and an "I don't know?"

Hire some help!!!! Waited over a half hour to get the truck even though I had made a phone reservation. Then I had to give the same info I had given over the phone all over again. Person at the counter was very slow moving and was helping people over the phone instead of those of us "in line". He may have been the owner but his customer service skills left a lot to be desired.

Until the general manager figures out how to properly staff this Uhaul location, I would not recommend. One person to handle Sunday morning with College students leaving nearby campuses, what a disaster.

Your customer service is the most useless group of people I've ever met. I had a poor experience with you in 2002, gave you a second chance and once again you proved that using Uhaul is a big mistake. God forbid ANYTHING go wrong, because you will be left high and dry by UHaul. If you have ANYTHING else in your area. Use them.

This location was fine. They accommodated a change out in the truck because we were taking it to Virginia from Rhode Island and the service rep on Monday was phenomenal. I do feel a little misled--the ad and the rental agent on the phone quoted me 59.99/day. I told both the rental agent as well as the location that we were taking the truck to VA. Our contract estimate was $349. The contract did say the estimate was based on 1.09/mile for 200 miles. We traveled over 900 miles and when we returned the truck it was $1230. Although I feel that I should have been paying closer attention to what the terms were, so bad on me, it would have been nice if the customer service rep either on the phone or at the desk would have brought to our attention how much more than $59.95 it was going to cost. I could have hired a moving company for less and could have saved the tolls and gas and 24 hours of my life had I realized that. I don't think I'll rent from uhaul again. It just didn't sit right with me. Thanks.

We waited for over a half an hour this morning, in line, to pick up the trailer we reserved... there's NO reason for one person to work alone at U-Haul on a weekend.... the poor man did a great job and apologized for our wait but again, he's only one person.
