The employee was extremely rude and it seemed like he didn’t know what he was doing. He tried to give my the truck for only 6hrs when I rented it for 24hrs. It wasn’t until I showed him my confirmation that he “agreed” with me. He cancelled my reservation and created a new one WITHOUT the dolly that I reserved, I spent an hour with this man trying to get my reservation right and every time I would tell him something regarding my reservation he would say that it wasn’t true until I showed him proof. When he made the new reservation he didn’t put my dolly, when I asked about it he said that it wasn’t in the original one, I showed him again that it was and he said “well we don’t have it” so I asked why nobody called BEFORE to confirm. If you reserve a dolly it’s because you need it not because you love reserving stuff that you’re not gonna use. I told him that I really need it to move out, it was just me and my friend moving out WE COULDNT DO IT WITHOUT A DOLLY, he didn’t offer any alternatives or anything he just said “well, just called them” (referring to u-haul costumer service). I usually never file complains but this man’s attitude still makes me so angry. If you’re gonna have branches then make sure to train well your employees and have equipment ready. I understand that if a store don’t have it is not their fault BUT YOURE OFFERING A SERVICE, you should make should you complete a RESERVATION as it was confirmed, especially if it was made A MONTH before. Side story: I came to this store in July when I was helping my friend move, the place in Oakland where she reserved also didn’t have a dolly but the employees where so kind when offering alternatives that we didn’t get mad, we came across this store when we were looking for a dolly (again, if you reserve it is because you need it, it’s not less important than the truck, they’re equally important). When we came to the store there were two dollies available, when we told him about the situation and asked him if we could rent it he said that they were RESERVED. Aren’t they first come first served? why am I the only whose reservation is not respected? Coming back to my story: My main complain in this situation is the employees attitude, you work in costumer service you don’t have to put up with rude people BUT YOU HAVE TO BE KIND TO THOSE WHO ARE KIND TO YOU, and defined YOU HAVE TO OFFER ALTERNATIVES, if that’s a service you’re offering make sure to offer a good service!!!! I work at costumer service too and I would never treat a client how I was treated. ( just remembering that day makes me mad because I WASNT RUDE ENOUGH. I’m sorry with however is reading this but this is my first complain so you can imagine how inefficient was the service I received) Second, please pleaaaaase change that policyyy!!! If you make a reservation pleaseeee just give us what we reserve, I had to put extra 8 miles in the truck, pay more than double for a dolly because I literally couldn’t move without it, I had to pay for an uber to return it. My second complain has two points of view: It would’ve been fine (getting an uber, paying extra for a dolly at a different place) if I would’ve gotten a notice beforehand. But I got to the place, my whole reservation was wrong and I had to waste my time trying to get it right (Again. not my fault, the store’s fault) just to be told that part of my reservation was missing? When I was expecting to get to the place and be out within 10mins. When I was expecting a smooth moving? Please!!! either, make sure to respect people’s reservation as it was made or call a day or two before to confirm details! If there were more moving companies I would never use U-haul again. But unfortunately, I think this is my only option

the person at the location at we rented from was incredibly rude. it was unbelievable. Fuel was below 1/8 of tank and I was told that I would need to find a gas station and fill it up, in a town that I am unfamiliar with. I will NEVER use this location again and would hesitate to even use UHaul in Berkeley again, that's how bad it was.

Jennifer OCharged me $55 extra for gas when I returned it with the same amount put in. Said that they gave me 1/4th of a tank when it was 1/8th and didn’t not change it even after I showed picture evidence with timestamps.
