The person working the receiving desk was rude and unhelpful. It is hard to imagine someone this lazy and rude having a job working for the public. It started when I walked in. SHe was spinning her chair and continued to do so without greeting me for several moments. Then she told me if I didn't fold the blankets that she would charge me a cleaning fee. DOn't they get cleaned between users anyhow. When I questioned that, she said, UHAUL wouldnt question her cleaning fee so I had better do it or else. I won't use this service every again, and will look for options other than uhaul for myself and the others I recommend (2-3 persons a year) in the future if I am not happy with the response to this survey.



The issue was not with the rental locations, it was with UHaul corporate policy. I tried to rent close to my home, but do to availability the website pushed me out to Sandwich, IL. I was then contacted a day later and told that I could not pick up the truck at Sandwich, but had to drive to Ottawa. I called the 800 number and the UHaul representative only added an additional 20 miles to my plan which was in no way enough to cover my extra mileage due to your booking errors. The person at Lets Stor It in Ottawa listened to my situation and gave me additional mileage to avoid overage. If it was not for her I would be extremely disappointed in my UHaul experience.

It was pouring rain and know one told us that this vehicle leaks why would you rent a truck that leaks After we get home my wife reads that the lady wrote something like they were not responsible for water damage she wrote that after I signed and never mentioned the big hole in truck This truck was old 26 foot and did not have cruise control' I rented 3 26 footers in last month and the other two we had were great Ford trucks from Princeton Illinois pickup.

I reserved furniture pads, but thought I could keep them. Nothing was mentioned about returning them when I picked up the truck. When I didn't return with the truck, they called me and we got it resolved but it would have been nice to review what needed to be returned and how much it would be to purchase them. Other than that, the customer service was wonderful!

Dawn was super nice BUT you can not use the internet to pick up or drop off the truck because it does not recognize your location. We walked around the building for over 30 minutes and the app still could not detect our location. My credit card was also charged 3 times as well!!!

To be clear, everyone I have dealt with at uhaul has been pleasant with the exception of one woman at the corporate office. But after being told I could not pick up my own trailer due to “policy” and “safety”, I had to make drastic changes to me schedule and plans to have a uhaul representative hook it up. 2 of them to be exact. My wife drove it home. When I arrived later, it was NOT hooked up correctly. This was after I was told how hooking it up incorrectly could cause “major safety concerns”. So my wife was sent off the premises with a “professionally” installed trailer that I had to fix anyway. For my troubles, I was given $50 off my next uhaul, which isn’t anywhere near enough to get my business back after this. I’ll be looking elsewhere next time. I don’t comprehend how you can make me go out of my way to fit into business hours under the assumption that my hooking it up myself would be unsafe, and then do a half-assed job hooking it up. What particularly frustrates me is that I was pleasant and cordial as were the uhaul employees, and I know if I had thrown a fit and really pressed the issue I would’ve been given a refund or a much more significant discount. But my being understanding and fair was all for nothing.
