This is the second time I have rented from this location. Both times the customer service was great, however this last time I was shocked at how filthy dirty the van was, both on the outside and inside. Plus even though I declined insurance no one at checkout examined the van to determine, what damage was already present before I drove off the lot. Then, I was further disappointed that a van needing maintenance as per the instrument panel of an oil change was neglected and rented as if this is fitting and proper. When I returned the van I had to explain that the condition of the van was not my doing as I didn't want to be charged for returning a messy van, it was rented to me in that condition. That is extremely unprofessional and it needs to be addressed.

The after hours check-in in process is terrible, I didn't reserve on line because I could find no way to reserve a hand truck with my van rental. As a result I called in my reservation. When I went to check-in I didn't have an account with a username password. I tried to create one but was unsuccessful in linking the reservation to my account. I called your customer service line. The gentlemen had me take pictures of the front, back and odometer of the van but then tried to have me email the photos to him. He had an impossibly long email address and kept saying the letters one at a time but it was hard to hear him and some of the letters were unintelligible. Finally I asked him to text me his email address, he sent me an email instead and I replied with the photos attached. This process needs some work.

I was very frustrated because I paid in advance to reserve a trailer in Simi Valley, only to be called day before and told none were available. It took over 2.5h round trip due to traffic to get the trailer. No complaints about the actual facility, but the process and deception was horrible.

The car hauler we picked up was not secured to the ball of the hitch (screwed down). So when we started to put the car on the trailer it was lifting all the way off the ball. Also, one of the tires deflated when we put the car on the trailer so we had to find a gas station to add air. Those small things should be checked before and while renting products from you.

I use this UHaul frequently. My most recent visit before today was July 18th and it was HORRIBLE, every time I would go there it was understaffed and poor service. Today I was VERY pleasantly surprised. It seemed like all new staff and there was someone to help everyone! They were all very clean and presentable. Whatever you guys did to change it up, it worked! Back of truck was padlocked. Not discovered until I reached my location 30 minutes away. After searching in vain for a key, I called the location's phone #. I was on hold for 20 minutes before somebody from a "call center" answered. She could do nothing for me. Said she'd "message" all the employees of the location and one of them would call me right back. Nobody ever called back. I drove 30 minutes back to the location, where a guy unlocked the lock and just walked away. No apology, no explanation, no offer to do something for my inconvenience, no words at all - just walked away. Horrible customer service and I was delayed over an hour and a half because of this stupid mistake by your staff. Will not use this location again.
