I am very disappointed after returning and fueling up at the service center itself where uhaul is located within to hand my keys to employees whom where sitting outside smoking cigarettes and chatting with people to later find out they stated they would email me a receipt and he charged $22.00 for 4 gallons of fuel. I specifically parked at fuel pump 13 upon returning and fueled the truck back to its correct needle point and verified this upon starting the truck back up, I even went as far as parking it back exactly how it was backed into the same parking spot when I accepted delivery of it. Shameless to say, I learned a lesson but would still like my refund on the $22.00 I was ripped off with. Lastly, I called back many many times to discuss and nobody answers the phone, that’s because they spend their time outside smoking and chatting, very unprofessional. I even had uhaul 800 customer service call them and they were unsuccessful. I escalated this to a supervisor who will be calling me within 72 hours. I’m glad to pay for my usage but I fueled up at the fuel center location itself upon returning and this is not my first time using uhaul. I know the rate of gas is higher if they have to refill it for the customer. I would never in my right mind do that, this is why I stopped at pump 13 and refilled it. The employees there are shameful and the manager according to employees name is bashar no where to be found. Unacceptable, I want my refund NOW!!!
HADY BI spoke with a U-Haul representative at this location, Dawn, who was very courteous, regarding picking my truck rental up prior to store opening hours using the U-Haul app. She said I could pick the truck up anytime in the morning using the app, which coincided well with the ride that I coordinate in the morning. While on the phone, she physically placed the key into the lockbox and explained that the app would provide the code when I arrived. When I showed up the next morning at 7:30 am, the app DID NOT provide a code and instead displayed a message that I could not pick up my truck until 10 am. I discovered that the manager, Bashir, was on premises and explained the situation to him, referencing my discussion with his employee, Dawn. After looking at the message on my phone and pulling up my reservation on the computer, he stated that the computer said 10 am, and that there was nothing he could do to help me. I was not happy, to say the least, and we had a heated exchange as a result of his unwillingness to accomodate me. At that point I told him that I was not going to wait until 10 am, and told him that he could cancel my $1000+ reservation. He silently and angrily got the keys out of the lockbox, handed them to me, and walked away into the back office. I will never use this U-Haul location again, and would recommend that others avoid it due to his lack of understanding of customer service.
LARRY CThe automated process to pick up is nightmare to use. Service hrs are not clear. finally had to wait for the service desk person to do the check out.
