I picked up a pick up truck on 8-17 for a week rental. The contract had a return date of 8-22 and that was wrong it should have been 8-25 7 days a week rental. When i picked rthe truck up the gas gage was just under a half tank and it was brought back exactly at the same reading however I was charged $7.50 in fuel charges. An estimate I had 750 miles as part of the week rental and only drove 1/2 that amount in your favor. I was quoted or estimated $316 for the week and it ended up over $400. That was a surprise I was not prepared for. I have rented several times over the year and would like to see if we can strenghten our relationship to continue to do business togerther. Chris Carr

Did not note my drop off location properly which resulted in me being overcharged by 66 which I am still trying to get resolved after I found a charge on my credit card without any advance notice; after I notified customer service that day as to where I had left the vehicle since I received a text message indicating I was expected to drop it off in Stoughton which was never communicated!

The service members at the store were great--very friendly and things were explained clearly. My concern however, was that I ordered a 10' UHaul and received a 15' truck. I didn't realize until I got the truck that I was confirmed for a larger (and therefore more expensive truck). That was pretty frustrating. The service members also had to move multiple vehicles because the one I was assigned to was unable to drive out of the space. The service members did the best they could, but I had to wait for a little while.

After our initial phone reservation, we received a number of calls and emails which did NOT accurately reflect what we reserved. Even after responding to all calls to clarify the reservation, it was grossly inaccurate when we arrived to pick up the truck (dates, duration and price (near triple). I would never return to that location again.

To Whom it May Concern: Kyzer de Voltai Erilus, General Manager at the Quincy U-Haul location, is not only one of your most valuable assets at the company, he is also a true leader and an outstanding role model for any employee at U-Haul. When I first came into his store on Quincy Ave, I was ready to knock someone down. Literately. U-Haul agents had previously (and mistakenly) cancelled my original truck reservations going from Boston to Miami; had offered absolutely no help reinstating it, and had the audacity to hang-up on me after I had spent hours being bounced around over the phone. I was informed by the agent who hung-up on me that he worked from the Quincy location, and I jumped into my car and drove straight to the store. The one thing employees at U-Haul must understand, is that anyone who’s moving is already going under a lot of stress. In my case, the stress level was magnified significantly as one of my dearest friends had just passed away and I was trying to find a bigger truck so I could take his furniture back to his family. Having to deal with the most rude agents at U-Haul brought the very worst to surface at the time, and I wanted someone to pay for it. Kyzer clearly understands the core of your business. He welcomed me with a smile despite my initial confrontation against him and his store, and proved me the agent I spoke with did not work there (calls were transferred randomly when they were busy at his store). He has since also proven that going above and beyond is just second nature to him. He drove the truck after work hours to my home when my own friend got scared by its size and refused to drive it in the very last minute. He accommodated the truck overnight when I didn’t have a place to park, and he followed-up all the way through every single process of my trip by ensuring that I would not get charged for an extra day renting the truck (our road trip got delayed), and by helping me with storage reservations in Miami as well. Kyzer is the only reason why I still did business with U-Haul after the experience I had with other agents, and I will refer him and his team to everyone I know. Kyzer was also instrumental in ensuring the family who had just lost their son could find a bit of comfort by making this happen so smoothly at such a vulnerable time for all of us. Priceless. I would really like your company to know how the actions of your employees can affect your customers. They can make our ‘new journey’ either a miserable one, or alike Kyzer, they can make all the difference in the world and turn our journey into a great experience. My friend’s family and I are eternally grateful to Kyzer’s kind attention, unquestionable leadership and superior customer service skills. Sincerely, Evie

I would recommend including owner manuals or extracts from them to cover basics like mirror adjustment. I couldn't figure out how to adjust mirrors on 10foot GMC truck otherwise the entire experience pickup/use/dropoff was all great

They did not have the furniture dolly that I reserved. The attendant could not find my name at first, then he could not find the keys to my truck. This is all after a week's worth of phone calls telling us that they were not sure they would have our truck on Sat. We felt we were getting a big run around. We needed to be SURE we would have the truck at 8 am and they could not guarantee that until the day before. When I got there, there were MANY 15' trucks, so I wondered why I got all that uncertainty. They made me worry more than necessary.
